I have heard some people mention that they split their time between two resorts. I would think that the day you switch would be a pain but I am also thinking that it would be fun to check out two places and maybe stay at a value and a deluxe instead of the whole time at a moderate. I have never been to WDW and would LOVE to stay at Beach Club but can't afford a whole week there. Was gonna do a week at POFQ but am now thinking of 4-5 at Allstar Music and 2-3 at BC. Any and all thoughts welcome. Thanks.

I have always wanted to do this too! We are staying on rented DVC points in January and since the weekends are so expensive (using points) we decided to stay at a different resort on Friday and Saturday nights. I was initially thinking about a moderate, but our DD's are so young that I thought they would enjoy one of the values a little more. I finally decided on POP although ASMo was a close second. I figure that if we are lucky enough to be able to rent DVC points again, we will try a different resort for the weekend. This way, we start our vacation at POP and then spend the rest in a 1BR at OKW. I imagine we will have a hard time dragging our oldest away from the Hippy-Dippy Pool!:lmao:

I think a split-stay is a great way to get the deluxe experience when you cannot afford an entire vacation at a deluxe resort. I know that our family can afford a week's vacation only every 4-5 years so we don't want to skimp, but we also don't want to have to save for 7 years to do a deluxe! I am so glad that there are great DVC members willing to rent their unused points. That helps us have a "deluxe" vacation and still save some money. If I could afford to go every 2-3 years, I'd buy into DVC in a heartbeat.

Do the split stay and have a great trip!!!

I have done split stays a couple of times. It works really well as the first resort will take your luggage over to the second resort - though that means waiting a couple of hours for it - not a problem just take your suits or wear the clothes you want to wear to the parks...

Last year I split between CSR and BWI - both were great! Another time we spent 5 days at POR and one at AK. Awesome!
