We are staying at the Wyndham Palms Resort and Country Club this coming week. We are just wondering what the resort is like, how the pools were, closeness to Disney, etc. Any help of these things?

Hi...I work in the winter as a raanger/starter at Mystic Dunes, the golf course at Wyndam Palms...I have never stayed in on of the units but the people I meet who are staying there really like it. As you know it is a large time share resort. there is one very large pool with some in pool sprayers and little kids area...There were sure lots of folks around the pool on nice days. The proximity to the pool will depend on location of the condo. The units are all very new with fancy tile baths and very nice furniture.

There is a minigolf course and bikes to ride...also it is a very nice area to walk.

It is located off Old Lake Wilson road, a very short and nice drive to Disney. I would recommend a shortcut to Disney by turning LEFT or West on 192 when you are coming from the condo and take the next right on Sherberth Rd.
This will bring you in at Animal Kingdom. Turn right at the stop light that says Osceola Parkway and it takes you into all of Disney. Turn left and you go to
Animal Kingdom Lodge for the best buffet at Disney, Boma's.

Hope this helps...

Enjoy...Ted

We stayed there in March and it is a very nice resort. The only problems that I found was that we were very far from the pool - which meant that we had to drive over to it. They also have golf carts that will come and get you if you call the front desk but that seemed too much of a hassle. The other thing I didn't like is that there is no hot-tubs. I have a bad back and like to relax in the hot tub after a hard day at Disney. They do have jacuzzi's in the rooms but that doesn't cut it for my back and we like to all relax in the hot tub as a family. The rooms are huge, the kitchens are beautiful, there was a big screen TV in the livingroom and leather furniture. I think you will like it. They were starting to put in a new pool when we were there that would have a slide too - I hope that is open when you go.

As far as getting to WDW it was very close - no problems there.

Have a great trip.
