We are planning a WDW trip for 2016 and I am curious about the Villas at the Grand Floridian.

I am a DVC member and I have stayed at villas at Aulani, Wilderness Lodge, Boardwalk, Grand Californian, Animal Kingdom Lodge.

What are the VGF rooms like? How do they compare to other DVC villas?

Thanks for any thoughts/experiences about this!
Steven

To me the rooms are much more luxurious although the studios have significant storage problems. You should be able to easily find some pictures of rooms.

Thanks, I have found some great photos on these threads. The rooms do look very lush. Love the old fashioned bathtubs!

I stayed there in May, very beautiful. We were in a studio, I put my suitcase by the lockoff door and hung my clothes. My friend had her suit case over by the couch, she doesn't hang her clothes, just works out of the suitcase. Another friend came for 1 night, I guess she had her suitcase by the TV. We managed.

We did something similar for the week all 5 of us stayed in a studio there. We pulled the ironing board out of the closet and put it it assembled in front of the lockoff door with a suitcase on it open and a case of water. We also pulled the pack n play out of the closet and just put it in on the floor behind the ironing board leaning against the lock off door. Below everyones shoes were placed. I think there was also a suitcase stand that we opened up and we used it in the closet since there was more space in the closet. We also utilized all the drawer space. And yes we put the sofa bed away every day and the pull down bed. We had plenty of room and had a great time.

Studio's closet/drawer space ample for 2 adults?

Great information! I'm looking at trying to book VGF for January or February 2016. Since I'm not currently a DVC member im going to have to wait and see if someone will be able to rent us some points.

We stayed for 3 nights in Sept. in a standard view 1 bedroom. We've been members a long time and have stayed at all the DVC properties at WDW except BC. VGF are VERY nice units.

We will be there for a week in a studio starting 11/22 before heading to a cruise. Our plan is to live out of a suitcase but hang up the formal wear for the cruise.

Define ample. ;) While I applaud the pp who made do by hauling things out of the closet and living out of a suitcase, my wife and I found the studio barely had enough room for the two of us for a week (we do like to put things in drawers and hang up some clothes). The Murphy bed under the TV takes away all of the potential drawer space there. The bed has two large drawers, but you can only use one since the other is blocked from opening by the large, heavy bedside table. Due to the split bathroom concept, there is a second bath/shower which takes up space that could be used for a larger closet. Instead, you are left to use the tiny closet in the hallway which has the safe, iron/ironing board, vacuum cleaner, and vertical shelving consisting of 3-4 very small cubicles. There is no other storage in the unit. We, too, stuck our suitcases in the hall against the lock-off door. All that aside, the studio was lovely and well-decorated. We had a lake view room which offered superb views of the water, Poly, the Wedding Pavilion, CR, boats, and even the monorail off in the distance. We will definitely stay there again at some point in the future.
