I have always wanted to stay at this resort and got a GREAT deal on it today thru a good friend who is an owner. I can't wait! It'll be to celebrate my BIG birthday which is in a couple of weeks and all I want to do is veg in the jacuzzi!

We'll stay at the Royal Pacific for the first two days then to the Marriott for 4 days.

If you've stayed there just tell me everything you loved about it! Like where exactly is it? I know it's near SeaWorld but where? I am soooo excited!

How are the onsite eating places? I don't plan to drive a lot so I'm ordering IN!

We are booked at MGV in May. Please be sure to post a review when you come back :cutie:

This resort looks amazing!!!! Be sure to give us a full report when you get back!!!!

stayed at MGV a couple of times! :teeth:

there onsite restuarant is over in the golf course - so we never tried it. besides on vacation I don't mind cooking. actually have time for it.....

there are some MacDonalds or Burger king, Wendy's and a few others close by.

the closest place to eat is Denny's.

It is on ID about a mile from SW.

there are 2 publix's - one is newer than the other one. the newest one - you turn left out of GV - then go through the first traffic light - at the second one turn right (or you can turn right - right before this light - same mall).
then as soon as possible turn right again - there is a big Publix in this mall.

there is also a mall - Premium OUtlets, a MacDonald and Dolly Parkins's dinner show.

Now we (spicey and I) loved RP - would stay there more often if the budget allowed it. You are aware that this hotels allows pets....

anyway Spicey had never been in a 4 star hotel before. So I expected him to shy the entire time we were there (only a day or two) - WRONG....

after a few minutes he was walking around like he owned the place. He seem to think he was the offical greeter.... thank goodness there were lots of cat lovers checking in - so he got more than his fair share of attention....

He rode on an elevator (first time) and that was also something he took too. He likes to walk himself and in no time he was walking on the elevator....

anyway he and mother had a grand time. This is an excellent resort. I got more 'how can we help you', 'do you need anything', 'have a wonderful day', or ' have a magicial day' - then we do at WDW.....

Mother had such a good time that she didn't want to leave....So instead of going over to the parks (which is the reason we stay there) - we just enjoyed the hotel....

so I highly recommend it. This place has lots of good restuarants!!! One of them - the one with the nightly show - was booked before we arrived. So if you want to see it I suggest you make your reservations now. I am not certain what it was - I think it was a luau????

Kilee and swillis: I will DEFINITELY post a report, taking pictures along the way!

spiceycat! Wow! Great info! I WOULD take one of my FOUR cats but I go on vacation to get AWAY from them! They literally fight over me and I need a rest once in awhile! I :rotfl: Talk about "catty"!!

I did decide to get a car, Alamo is running one heck of a price for a compact, cheaper than getting a cab everywhere. My son loves Denny's... I don't think I go on vacation to go to a restaurant I can go to in Georgia but... you know 13 year olds....

I can't wait! I haven't been on a trip in 2 1/2 years! This time I intend to ENJOY myself!!

Hi! I know someone who has a Marriott Grande Vista timeshare... how can they get you a good deal? Do you have to sit through a timeshare presentation? Thanks for answering! :thumbsup2

Yes I do have to sit thru it but I heard it's low key and I get $100 in Marriott dollars just to listen to their spiel. Anyone who knows me knows that I don't mind these things at ALL, after working with a staff of 20+ salespeople I'm immune to them!

If you'd like my contact PM me.

We love the Grande Vista and have stayed there at least 4 or 5 times. The pools are awesome. They just build a new one that has zero entry with a fountain and water guns for the kids. They have a pool bar by the new one along with a restaurant.

My kids love the indoor playground. We would go each night and sit and relax. They have big comfy leather couches to sit on by the playplace.

The rooms have a huge jacuzzi tub. We have stayed in both 1 bed and 2 bed.

The location is very conveinient. We love it there!

Hello, Neighbor Evans Family!

Thanks for the info! I do INTEND to use that jacuzzi! Thanks everyone for the info. I canNOT wait to get to Florida!! :cool1:

Hello,
A couple of days ago I had posted a question asking for opinions. I hope I can post this link correctly: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=894582
We received an offer in the mail, Five days Four nights for 199. I upgraded it for another $99 to a one bedroom. We have to sit through a time share presentation, too. When I asked about it, they said they schedule the presentation beforehand, and that they do it at 12:00 noon, which I think is pretty inconsiderate. 12:00 noon? C'mon......When we sat through the two others we have done, we scheduled them for 7:30 a.m. this way we'd be outta there by 9:00. But 12:00 noon? She said that they do not like to schedule big groups because people find it annoying, and then in the next breath she said that they schedule their presentations for 12:00 noon this way everyone (those touring - prospective buyers) will be present. Huh?

What did you hear concerning the presentation?
I booked it on Friday and I still haven't heard from someone to confirm it, but I did receive a confirmation email.

Hi, Corryn:

I was told my presentation would be scheduled the day before I leave, on Tuesday morning. I didn't mind because that was to be my DO NOTHING day anyway! I figured I'd use the Marriott dollars to eat dinner, probably at the Marriott World Center.

I stayed at the Marriott's Cypress Habour in 2004 and it was great. Will be staying at the Marriott's Grande Vista this June and have heard that I should request a new room or a re-furbished one. So I was thinking about calling the Grande Vista and asking them to possibly fax me a copy of there layout of the resort. I think the Ibiza building is the newest just from reading the threads here, but am not sure. So...whoever know or will know(robinrs) which buildings are the newer ones, please let me know. :thumbsup2

We went to the timeshare presentation. It wasn't that bad. Had a tour. They are not too pushy. We knew we were not interested going in. We were out of there in 90 minutes just like they said. I'd do it again in a heart beat for the cheap price we received!
