Staying at the GF for disneymoon

Do you think it is worth the extra $$$ to stay in a consierge room during our honeymoon? My FH and I are going in with the attitude "this is our honeymoon, we probably won't have another extravagant vacation" but we don't want to go totally overboard. Any suggestions or opinions?

We stayed in one of the turret honeymoon suites for our honeymoon and I'm so glad we splurged on it. We were honeymooning when Hurricane Jean came and had to spend 24hrs in the room, so it was nice having the extra space. Its also just very romantic!

My DH and I decided to "splurge" on concierge for our Disney wedding/honeymoon and our only regret is that it was so cool but we will probably not be able to afford it again!

You should check out some of the threads on concierge on the resorts board though...there is a difference between "Disney concierge" (which I think is slowly changing to "club level") and Concierge at almost any other hotel (non-Disney). Just be sure to understand what is provided with your Disney concierge and what isn't...know that the "snacks" provided in the lounges are not intended to be a meal plan (with the exception of the breakfast).

We didn't feel the extra expense for such a special occaision was going overboard...we just allowed ourselves to enjoy it as much as we could!

You should think about how much time you will spend at the resort. IMO, concierge - especially at the GF- is worth it if you will staying at the resort for at least part of each day, so you will have the opportunity to enjoy the food and beverage offerings. Also, you should think about how much "special assistance" from the concierge you would like/use. If you want to do most of your own planning, perhaps you should book a regular GF room and use the $ to splurge on some wonderful dinners.

All I can say if you have the cash - DO IT!! We decided to splurge on our recent wedding weel and wedding night stay and it was worth every penny. We were treated like royalty there and it was so luxurious, plus we got a special and amazing view of Cinderella's castle.

I agree. We were in the concierge room at the GF in the main building. (then we got upgraded at the boardwalk into concierge) We had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. It was fantastic! but i'm not sure if we could afford to do it again. while it was grreat! i think you have to really spend time at the resort for it to pay off. since we were winding down from our wedding, we were able to get breakfast, snacks, etc. and then we took full advantage of the beer & wine at night. so it really depends on if you will be at the resort.

I've never done concierge, but i have friends who have. They swear by its value...just out of curiosity, would the price difference between a room at GF and maybe concierge at Polynesian (claimed on wdwtoday to be the best food in concierge) be a little less than going concierge GF?
