Staying at SSR - Waterpark or resort activities

I am going in Aug for 7 days w/ DS 9
I am planning 1 day at each of the parks and the PP party. (No hopper for me). I am staying at the SSR.
Originally I was just planning on going to the resort pool the day of arrival (arrive to resort around 4) and getting an early night. Then again on the day of departure in the morning.
I was planning to use 2 days Tues and Friday at the waterparks as a "break" day. Friday night we are going to the PP party.

But looking at SSR and chatting with other DISers, it is a nice resort w/ a pool and organized activities.

So my question is, should I use those days at the resort or the Water parks? I am debating between buying a water parks and more pass.
I should add that my son likes any kind of pool.

If it were me, I'd stay at the resort. Your son will have just as much fun. My kids love staying at the resort to use the pool, slide, and around 1:00 they have contests/trivia/bingo. In April my daughter won "Mousetrap" board game for hoolahooping and my mother won bingo-she got to choose her prize off of a table full of games. She chose a table top basketball game that has electronic score keeping and gave it to my son. I think the prizes are wonderful. If you wanted to, spend 1 day at the waterpark and 1 day at the resort.

I would stay at SSR...
Plenty to keep you busy for a day at least....

Community hall has games and organized activities...
pool games every day at main pool....

Rent a Surrey bike....walk to dtd...ok maybe not in aug...

The pool is great....slide is a lot of fun.
