Staying with friends at SSR tomorrow for a long weekend. I have never stayed at a DVC, and we are staying as DVC guests, not hotel guests. (meaning I do not believe we have turn down service etc...)

I was wondering if there is anything you think we need to bring with us. We won't be doing a lot of cooking, but plan to make breakfast. I know they provide some essentials (silverware, plates??), and of course we need to bring the food. Is there anything that Disney does not provide that we really should think about bringing from home. We are driving up from S. Florida, so it isn't a problem to throw a few extra in the car.

THANKS!!

What size accomodations are you staying in? Are you in a 1 bedroom or larger unit?
The SSR accomodations (larger than the studios) are well stocked with all of the basics - dishes, glassware, cookware, utensils etc. Many people choose to bring their own knife - especially if you are going to be cutting hard cheese for a snack. We have always found what was in the unit to be adequate. We generally do breakfast and snacks in, but not much real cooking.
Have a Great Weekend.

Thanks, we will be in a 2 bedroom. So I guess that means we will be all set. I assume they give you some cleaning supplies for the kitchen, correct?

The two-bedroom villas are pretty much completely stocked with what you will need - oven, fridge, microwave, toaster, dishwasher, can opener, etc. There is adequate cookware and plenty of utensils, plates, glasses, etc. The fridge has an icemaker. There is a small (starter) supply of sugar, tea bags, coffee and filters. The unit has a supply of dishwashing liquid and dishwasher detergent as well as a small box of detergent for the laundry.

We always bring salt/pepper from home - sounds funny, but there is none in the unit and I've always forgotten to order from Garden Grocer! We also normally bring an extra supply of detergent (in sheet form), extra coffee and coffee filters. I also normally pack some Lysol wipes.
