I would like to introduce myself to the Disneyland boards.:wave2:

I am a WDW vet with a husband that needs a change of scenery.:rolleyes1
Have booked the PPH for the end of July and just wondering if there are any hotel breakfast options besides the Lilo ans Stich breakfast? Hubby likes a wholesome bacon, eggs and sausage breakfast while on vacation and is diabetic.
A nice breakfast buffet at a reasonable price would be ideal.;)

Any suggestions would be great!!

(Just thought that I would add that I did visit DLR many times as a kid and last visit was with DH and DS in 2000.)

Hello, and welcome home:hug:

There aren't any other breakfast choices at the PPH itself, other than room service. My family actually enjoys the room service there, and the American Breakfast is enough to get us all off to a start (well, it was, but probably not now that my oldest is a teenager:scared1:).

I would think you might really enjoy the GC Hotel, and it is not far at all. At their restaurant you can do the buffet or order off of the menu, just like you can at Lilo and Stitch. It is also a character meal though. If you go around the corner, you can eat at White Water Snacks, which has some great breakfast items too.

For the most peaceful, I understand that Steakhouse 55 in DLH is fabulous for breakfast, but have not had the opportunity to try it yet.

All of those are in walking distance, but if you will have a car, you may want to pop out and run over to MIMI's, just down Harbor Blvd. There breakfast is great.

I hope you have wonderful trip.

Here is a link to PPH's room service breakfast menu, the prices aren't too bad for room service but still pricey:

The Lilo and Stitch breakfast is nice in that you can do the buffet for around $21.99 or order off the menu.

And I'll second the idea of Steakhouse 55 for breakfast over at the Disneyland Hotel. Its very good. And low key.

You also have a lot of options in DTD, right as you walk into the park. RFC has breakfast, La Brea Bakery has a very good breakfast:

Another option is inside the park. I love to eat at the Riverbelle Terrace inside DL. Its cs and they have some very tasty breakfast platters. I love to sit outside, overlooking the Rivers of America (heck Walt Disney did that most mornings, he would have his coffee there frequently). Carnation Cafe on Main Street also serves breakfast (this is full serve but very reasonable).

Hope that helps a bit. And here is the link for menus at the DLR:

walk across the street and the grand californian is right there. they have a lovely resturant with a great menu to start your day!! story tellers, and white water snacks, both :) you can walk thru and get breakfast at the rainforest cafe,

I have to load up on protein in the morning too, to keep the blood sugar under control and have enough fuel for the day, so I am always in need of a good breakfast. If you don't want character meals, then all of the previous suggestions are good ones. There is a little coffee/sandwich bar thingy off of the lobby in the PPH, but they serve overpriced juices and pastries, and not enough of the 'protein' breakfast items. Rainforest Cafe is actually very nice for breakfast (and less crowded than lunch or dinner) because you can really soak up the ambience. The breakfast is pretty good, but if your husband needs big portions of eggs and bacon and sausage, that may not be the place. I like Storytellers as a restaurant in general, but I think the menu items are too expensive for what they are and their buffet is a better 'bargain.' Carnation Cafe is nice for breakfast, as is River Belle Terrace.

People have suggested Pacific Wharf Cafe in DCA before, as they have a nice breakfast bowl with eggs and bacon (no cheese).

I do Goofy's Kitchen in the DLH once every trip, because the huge buffet is all you can eat, so you can get as much of whichever items you like and select from a very wide variety of choices. But it is definitely NOT inexpensive at all (nor are any of the character meals). I load up on the eggs, bacon, sausage and delicious fruit. The bacon is some of the best I have ever tasted (sprinkled with pixie dust, I think!). That is actually my favorite place to eat in DLR overall, but if you don't want a character meal or don't want to dole out that kind of money, then GK may not be for you.

We are going to try GK breakfast this year. I also love the bacon eggs, sausage, etc type of eating. Keeps me going for at least 1/2 hour!

You could go to Surfside Lounge which is in the Paradise Pier Hotel located near PCH Grill. There is also the Coffee House at the Disneyland Hotel. Both of these locations are counter service.

Yes, Surfside is the place I was referring to in my earlier post, with the overpriced beverages and pastries. I couldn't remember the name of it! You know, honestly, that is a good place for snacks and coffee drinks, and maybe some expensive sandwiches, but, unless they have changed their menu, it is not a good place to load up on the protein foods for those who need to do that early in the morning.

"A nice breakfast buffet at a reasonable price would be ideal."

Honestly, I imagine that the Lilo/Stitch buffet is the best-priced buffet.

I just got home from work and was thrilled to see all the responses and great suggestions!

A counter service type meal would work for DH, but not the pastries, like Sherry E explained.

I'm glad to hear that Rainforest Cafe serves breakfast. I tried searching their website, but couldn't find the answer. (eta....I just found the menu on allearsnet.)
I think that Whitewater Snacks, River Belle Terrace and The Pacific Wharf in DCA would work well, also.

My Ds is 10, so considered an adult by Disney standards. I don't think I could bring myself to pay 21.99 for his breakfast.

We will have a car, so offsite restaurants would work, too.

Thanks again for all the suggestions!
