to the Caribbean beach for $375 more for the week?

There are 4 adults traveling, me, wife, friend and her sister. I know the rooms at CBR are about 40 sqf bigger, but is there any other reason i should stay there?

are the magic bands going to be available to guests there in may?

Depends on what you like. POP is quite nice. Disney values are NOT a Motel 6. They are well maintained, landscaped Disney style resorts. The rooms are slightly smaller than the moderates but not much. They use double beds instead of queens but work just fine for us. We find the rooms very nice.

The reasons to opt for a moderate would be if you spend considerable time at the resort during the day, swimming etc. or if you would need a sit down restaurant at your resort. The pools at moderates have slides, the values do not. POP does have a nice outdoor bar at the main pool (there are 3 pools).

We don't spend much time at the resort. We're at the parks, DTD, seeing a show etc. and only at the resort to sleep. So for us the extra $'s are not worth it. Would rather spend those $'s on other things.

You might want to look into staying at a moderate that has beds bigger than the doubles at Pop and CBR.

Also, POR and/or POFQ have nightly entertainment and a boat shuttle to DTD

But, if you are just trying to decide between Pop and CBR, for an adult trip, I am not sure I would switch. With kids, I would say CBR b/c of the pool and pirate splash park.

Hmmmmm - not necessarily - honestly I don't find the differences between the mods and values to be all that significant - but I often travel solo.

The mods are more spread out, have some table service dining options, maybe a bit more themed pool, some mods have queen beds - now that may make a difference.

The value rooms are small however - so if you plan on having four people in a room - I would consider it for the space. As a frequent solo traveler it doesn't make that much difference to me - if I upgrade - I upgrade to a deluxe resort! :goodvibes

If you're sharing one room, definitely stay somewhere bigger. Do I read your post correctly --- three of you are female.? I'd suggest two rooms or somewhere with at least two baths. The POP property is fun, but the rooms are tiny. Not small. Tiny. I'd probably stay off site in a 2br condo, or try for a DVC unit, but if you must stay in a hotel, at least get two rooms.

Vacations are more fun if you are well rested.

the magic bands are surpose to be available to all WDW guests this year.

besides think they tried in on Pop - so no worries there.

both Pop and CB have the double beds - if you want more bed room then go with POR or CSR. these now have 2 queen beds. think POFQ does too.

if the friend and her sister are paying their share - they get a vote too.

they might prefer their own room at Pop.

Switch!! The room is bigger and the beds are bigger. With four adults it is worth it. POP is one of my favorites but only if I am traveling with children 12 and under.

Also CBR has more bus stops. At least it did when we last stayed at a value resort which has been a long time. Maybe things have changed but when we stayed at AS Sports it was an incredibly long walk to the one bus stop near the gift shop/check in desk.

I would also ask on the resort board. This is the Orlando board so it's mostly about staying off site. You will get more responses on the resort board though.
I have to say, second guessing oneself about which Disney resort to stay at is a common thing. I think at one point there was a huge thread called Resort Changers or something like that.

I agree. It's their vacation too. :thumbsup2

The beds are not bigger at CBR, they are still double. If you are switching to a moderate I would go with POR, CSR or POFQ - they have queen beds.
