staying at palm coast- help w/ beaches please

we traded our timeshare for one in palm coast florida and plan on doing a day or two at the world. This is our first time to Florida/World. We would like to spend a day or two at the beach. Does anyone have any suggestions of a Beach that we could go to with a family and have a nice day? Daytona is close but I not sure how the crowds would be in August ( which is only time of year we could go ) Thanks, oh and we would be willing to travel an hour or so...Thanks,

Hello:

Palm coast is on the coast.....

So the beach is right there. Here 's a link to the beaches in Flagler County that will be nearest you.....I've personally spent time on Vilano Beach near St. Augustine (not really sandy--actually more like crushed shells) and Ormond Beach (about 45min. or so south of Palm Coast).

The North Florida Coast isn't as "Tropical" as Miami or the Gulf Coast, but there are some nice beaches to be had, and they'll be pretty close to where you're staying (no long, hot, sunburned, sandy ride home).

We are here now and found a beautiful very private beach with public access. You take exit 289 off of 95 and turn left. You will cross the bridge onto Palm Coast and turn left (north) on A1A then turn right when the road tees. You'll pass JT's seafood shack (not very good) on your left and you will see Palm Coast Villas on your left also. Take the road directly across from the Palm Coast Villas (it says beach access) and it leads to a parking area with a new shower house.

Sorry I don't know the road names, we just found it today. The area is absolutely beautiful. Everything is new and very lush. You'll have a great time!
