so the big question is, would you say is it walkable? Is the walk nice or do I have to cross some major streets.
If not, are there in out privileges when parking at disneyland?
thanks for everyone's help

It's a significant walk - you're down near Chapman Ave and Embassy Suites South. You could take ART from there instead of driving and parking.

FYI - if it means anything - I was on the phone with a Cast member the other day. We are staying at the Embassy Suites and I was looking into switching to the Paradise Pier Hotel. She told me that we would be able to walk the distance, if we chose. (my kids are 10 & 15 though)
But she also mentioned that the walk would be shorter than the Paradise Pier hotel if we used ART. Just something to keep in mind. Enjoy your stay.

Walk from Embassy Suites?! I checked Mapquest and from Embassy Suites to the Park Vue Inn (which is basically at the crosswalk), it's 1.2 miles. That's some long walk.

Wait, I just noticed you said "Cast Member", so maybe you meant you could walk from Paradise Pier and not Embassy Suites. Sorry, I'm definitely confused. :confused3

You can walk from Paradise Pier, but it's definitely longer than many of the hotels close by on Harbor. Embassy Suites wouldn't be considered walkable by very many, I expect. Embassy Suites would have ART as an option or you drive yourself and park. From Paradise Pier, you can catch the monorail in Downtown Disney to get to DL, and you can go through Grand Californian to get to DCA, but you're basically walking and there's no shuttle option.

Ummmm...no, you cannot walk from the Hilton Garden Inn to DL. Maybe the CM mistook the HGI for the Anaheim Hilton (which is walkable, about 10-15 min)???

On a side note, we stayed at the HGI last March. It is a very nice hotel; the furniture was new and the beds were quite comfy. They serve a decent hot breakfast in the morning (a plus if you can book the bed & breakfast plan at a decent rate), and service was great.

We drove every day to the parks from HGI because it is absolutely too far to walk. The ART stop is next door to the HGI at the Embassy Suites. We drove because there were 7 of us and ART would not have been cost effective. One of our hopper passes came from AAA, so that gave us free daily parking at DL. I don't know about in/out privileges with the parking.

We've never walked from there, but I have seen other folks hoofing it from the Garden Grove hotels. It's a straight shot up Harbor Blvd, and there are lights for major streets (really just Katella). But as a pp stated, it is just over a mile... one way. It might not be a bad walk in the morning, but after a long day in the parks, I'm thinking it could be downright miserable.

Once you pay for parking you do have in and out priviledges for the day. But getting to and from, and in and out of, the parking areas (especially the Mickey & Friends structure) can really chew up a lot of time.

No I meant Embassy Suites... Actually after other visits to Florida, 1.2 miles really is nothing with a good pair of walking shoes. The poster above is probably correct that the walk back would be worse after walking all day.
If I have little ones, it would be a different story, I would most likely need to take the ART all the time.
Guess we will wait and see how things go.......
