Staying at DLP

Hi everyone!!

I just wanted to drop a line while we are in France. We are having a great time, but Europe is a little overwhelming for our dd (4...almost 5). She got a homesick right away...I think it was the bathrooms without toilet seats and cream sauces in the French food . Anyway, we decided to "surprise" her with an impromtu trip to DLP, using our DVC points. Well....lesson learned. We were calling about 10 days out, but DVC requires a minimum 14 days' notice to use DVC points at DLP. This "arrangement" never even occurred to me!!! So, we cannot use our points. We could, however, book a room for $$$....so, we're going to DLP!! I have to admit to being a LITTLE excited myself!! I just wish I knew more of what to do/eat. We are either going to try the Cinderella restaurant or the one in the POC...we'll just have to see. We got a room at Newport Beach hotel. The reservationist on the phone actually asked dh if we had ever stayed at "The Beach Club" at WDW...as, the resorts are very similar. Gosh...I really hope they are!!

I just wanted to let everyone know (if you didn't already), that you need to plan ahead if you are going to use DVC at DLP...no last minute trips allowed!!

Hope that Ireland gets used to Paris in case you ever relocate to France. I'll bet that DLP will help that goal a lot. Have a wonderful time. We will probably never make it there, so will be glad to hear your report.

DLP is on my must do list but DD is only 2 so I think we'll have to wait at least 5 years. I don't even know how long the trip from Hawaii to France will be

Similar-ish!!! On the DLP board, we always tell people who are visiting DLP for the first time - just don't go expecting WDW!! Really hope you enjoy your visit to the "European version" of Disney.

Glad to hear you are having a great time in Paris. Hope you have a great time at DLP and will be looking forward to hearing a report. Hope the Newport Beach Hotel is great, but watch out if they ever add a DVC there as you will be adding on points.
