Goofy's Kitchen is too expensive. Anyone offer some tips? Park opens too late to feed my DD2.

don't know if you're looking to eat at dlh. but if you are, then there's a coffee shop there that sells cereal, yogurt & pastries right outside of goofy's kitchen or you could eat at steakhouse 55 for breakfast cheaper than at goofy's for a sit down breakfast. you can go to allears for the menus. :goodvibes

Agree with blue donkey. We like Steakhouse 55--we often split meals and the prices are quite good anyway.

There is also Compass Bookstore in DTD, which is very close to DLH. They have quite a few a la carte options as well as coffee, milk, juice, and fruit.

Don't rule out room service, either. We finally did it the last trip, and it was such a success that we did it on all 4 mornings we were there! The breakfasts are big, so we split 3 of them for our family of five. One is a big breakfast that includes one hot beverage and one juice (so two beverages per meal) and that one got my husband and I our coffees for the morning, and the kids their juice. We ordered two of those big breakfasts, and full sized order of Mickey pancakes or waffles, and there was plenty to go around.

We could arrange to the breakfast to be our wake up call (so, like 7:00) and when they knocked on the door the guy would set up while we were waking up. It was so fast and convienent to have all the food and coffee brought straight to us--and the kids loved eating breakfast in the room in their PJ's before having to head out for the day.

Can't wait to do it again in December!:santa:

Thanks, I was unaware that Steakhouse 55 served breakfast. Are there any locations close to the hotel that serve during those hours? I see Rainforest Cafe offers a Breakfast.:thumbsup2

Rainforest has breakfast and so does La Brea Bakery and Catal. At Storytellers in GCH, you can order off the menu - do not have to get the buffet - and they have great stuffed French Toast, as well as Characters.

You also have a dorm sized fridge in your room. You can pick up pastries or bring some cereal from home and get some milks at the previously mention DLH coffee shop to keep in the fridge. That fridge actually holds a reasonable amount of leftovers, too!

We love the Rainforest for breakfast. The portions are HUGE so we share, which keeps costs down. The Tonga Toast (I think that is the name) is super yummy! We had the breakfast pizza once and that was yummy too!

2nd that! We do this all the time at DLH. We do this to be quick and eat before we leave DLH, not to be cheap - but if you're on a budget this would do the trick. Note: Fresh fruit is also part of what they sell.

Steakhouse 55 was GREAT. It was not busy at all. We walked right in. Good food and very reasonable prices. Don't let the dinner prices scare you away. Breakfast is very reasonable compared to all the other alternatives.

You live near my neck of the woods, are you driving?

If you are driving you can bring an ice chest with you with milk, soda, juice, yogurt. Then bring other things like cereal, bread, bagels... I see you have a 2 yo. You could bring fixins for a PB&J and give that to her in the park for lunch, bring a little cup of applesauce and you've just saved yourself $6 per meal:thumbsup2

Hey neighbor ;) . yes Im driving, but I have 4 people in my GTI so not much room for food:laughing: . Its not so much that I dont want to pay for food...I just dont want to pay $32 a person for breakfast:rolleyes1

Another good option is La Brea Bakery. They have an express area and they have a ton of pastries and even quiche and other stuff. We do that a lot and it's right before the gates, which makes it easy!

We like to eat in the room-- quicker and more convenient, especially on Magic Mornings, besides being cheaper. Since you'll have the car, you can just head down the street to a Vons, Target or Albertsons and stock up when you get there. We had juice, milk, cereal-to-go in cups, yogurt, fruit and pop tarts. And we brought lots of bottled water, too, because the tap water there is horrible, and bottled water is $2.50-$3.00 in the parks!

We love Storytellers!

I know you are staying at DLH, but Storytellers at GCH has a wonderful breakfast you can order off the menu and the bonus is the characters are there. Very nice atmosphere, too!

you can do the same at PP hotel with PCH grill and characters are there as well because of lilo and stitch breakfast...

Last time we stayed at DLH, a couple of the mornings we brought muffins and then stopped for a Jamba Juice in DTD. YUM
