HI! I ma staying at CSR from July 6-13. We originally stayed at POR but were not able to book it. Should we see if we can switch?

Melissa

Hi Melissa,

While our family loves POR, and it would be my choice to stay at, we've also tried CSR, and I'd highly recommend it also. If I were in your shoes, I probably wouldn't try too hard to change my ressies; We loved the food court at CSR, and the kids loved the pool. I think things seem a little more spread out at CSR, and we saw a few more people in suits than we're used to at Disney (due to the convention that was there at the time), but the beauty of the resort and the fact that there's a health club right there more than made up for it.

Unless CSR really doesn't appeal to you, why not give it a try?

Good luck with your decision,
Ric

If you really want to stay at PORS then keep trying to see of there are openings. That is what I like about using Dreams Unlimited to book my WDW reservations, THEY will do the checking for me once a week and it doesn't cost me long distance charges.

But I think you will also be happy with CSR. I haven't convinced my husband to stay there yet, but I have visited. It is just lovely!

Melika77,
It all really depends on where you'd rather stay. If you had your heart set on staying at PO-RS, then make the change. Either way though, I don't think you'll be disappointed. Mickey76 has stayed at a moderate before and so have I (although not together :( ) We had nothing but good things to say about the resorts. As for CSR, this resort really appeals to us and that is why we chose it for our stay from 5/25 to 6/5! It sounds like such a beautiful resort and looks like it too, according to the many pictures we have seen. Like I said, if you wanted to say somewhere else then do it, if not I'm sure you'll love CSR, just like I know we will!!!!! :)

61 days and counting!!!

I've stayed at both and both are really quite similar - obviously different themes. The rooms are the same size. Both resorts have their plusses and minuses. POR has the boat to DD. Coronado's DD bus goes to the Boardwalk too. Both have food courts and a sit down restaurant. Both have a great main pool and several quiet pools. Coronado has a nice location near Blizzard Beach and AK with MGM just down the road. Riverside is quiet and peaceful and close to Epcot and MK. Coronado has a hair salon and spa due to the convention center. Both resorts have a game room and boat rentals. Riverside has a fishin' hole which is fun. In our family we have one who loves Coronado while the rest of us love Riverside. You really can't go wrong with either one. A suggestion - why don't you split your stay? The money will be the same and you'll be able to see which resort you like the best.

We have stayed at both CSR and PO. I must say I am a CSR fan! We have been there many times and will be going there in three days. We were at PO Christmas of 2000 and had a great time. We went there because we were with friends who love New Orleans. Our son even took the time to take their kids over to CSR just to show them how great a place it is. PO is very nice and we enjoyed the resort, but it is small and the pool is fine but CSR is just so beautiful and the pool is something you just cannot believe. The food at PO is good but the variety at CSR is much greater. The walks around the grounds will have you believing you are in the Southwest and you just want to stay there! We have been going to WDW for thirty years. Aside from OKW, which is my favorite place to be CSR gives me all the magic I need to convince myself I am away from it all!!!

We just came back from a week at CSR, and I would highly recommend it. We had a wonderful time at the pool (great bar there, too!), and the grounds are lovely, especially at night. The food court is a cut above, IMHO, and it is now our resort of choice for family trips.
