I wanted to stay at CR since I was about 4 years old. It's a dream come true I can take my family there this year. Myself, DW, DD15 DD8 and DD6

So, I'm looking at some travel times and it would appear it's quicker to walk to MK than take the monorail, listed at 19 minutes to get around.

I also saw listed it's about 30 minutes from CR to EP (with the TTC xfer).

Should I be walking both ways to MK? Obviously I have to ride the monorail a few times but with 2 days at MK and 1 MVMCP night, it seems like walking might save us some time.

Can anyone give me any tips? Thanks!

Sure, the walk is so easy and peaceful:). When you'll really love it, is at the end of the night, when the monorail, buses and boats are packed, the walkway is not. And you'll get right home in no time:thumbsup2. We stayed at BLT twice, and really enjoyed that walk.

The walk from the CR to MK is under 10 mins..and is really quite pleasant!! I love making that walk.
The trip to Epcot is pretty nice as well. Monorail over to TTC and then onto the Epcot line....shouldn't be longer than 30 mins total....even with the longest possible wait times for each monorail to come.

Congrats -- CR is a great place to stay, especially when going to MK often. Yes, definitely do the walkway. It's under 10 minutes each way and very peaceful. You will be the envy of everyone waiting for their buses :thumbsup2.

Also, if you choose to take the monorail to MK, get familiar with the monorail loop because I think it makes other stops first. However, if you want to take the monorail back to CR after being at MK, I think CR is the first stop. It's helpful to get familiar with the loop just in case you are ever in a hurry. If you are there at a busier time, there may also be a line or a wait for a monorail. Just so you know....

The Magic Kingdom is right next to the Contemporary so if it's speed you're after, then walking is best. But remember there's something special about arriving by monorail. It's like another park ride! Plus the view you get from the platform at the Contemporary is pretty nice.

There are three monorail loops.
1. The Epcot loop...runs from the TTC to Epcot and back.
2. The Express...runs directly from TTC to MK, and back again.
3. Resort....stops at the TTC, Polynesian, GF, MK, CR and back to TTC. Takes about 25 mins to make a complete loop.

Agree with walking being your best option. Mostly, I wanted to also agree that staying at CR is a dream come true and I hope you have the time of your life. :goodvibes

We always prefer to walk. So much quieter like the OP said.
