Staying at Cocoa Beach

I'm hoping to fly in a day before cruise and would like to stay at a Cocoa Beach hotel, possible at the Hampton using HiltonHonor points. They offer a complimentary shuttle to the cruise terminal so what is best, renting a car (Avis) at MCO and dropping it at the Radisson or having a Limo take us to the Hampton and use their shuttle to the port? Also does anyone have any input on the Hampton? It sounds nice on Dave's site.
Thanks everyone:)
Kim

The Hampton was very nice! We used the free internet access in the lobby a bit. It was a very clean place -- and friendly too. If you show your room card at Ron Jon Surf shop you receive a discount. It is a short walk up the beach from the Hampton to Ron Jon. Nice Pool at the Hampton and only a very short walk and you are on the beach! We were surprised at how blue and warm the water was. Nothing like the yucky beaches close to us! What I liked best about the Hamtpon was the rather abundent continental breakfast in the AM. Each person could get up and shower and head for breakfast at their convenience. It made the cruise morning less hectic.

I highly recommend them! :sunny:

We are looking for two rooms 11-9 before our cruise.
Any specials for rooms?

I spent a week at the Hampton 2 years ago. Loved it, nice rooms, great breakfast, internet, etc.

We got tar all over everything. They have signs posted and I thought were were looking out but we ended up throwing a lot of stuff away (shoes, bags, etc.)

We're staying at the Hampton next 5/23, the night before our Western cruise. We got the cruise special for $105 which includes a room with King bed and a pull out sofa for our two teens. Also, fridge, MW, coffeemaker, etc. Breakfast and internet in lobby. Leave your car there and take the cruise shuttle and save on port parking fees. :D

We stayed there summer of '02 and our only complaint was that we were not completely on the beach. We were behind a condo place and had to walk a short walk to the beach. There was a guy on the beach renting chairs, surfboards, etc. Very quiet beach. Water was rough but maybe that was uncharacteristic. We used Hilton points so it was free for us. We had rented a car from the airport so we turned it in at the Radisson and took their shuttle over to the ship. Ron Jovi's was fun but there's not much else to do there at night. If you need stuff for the cruise there are many pharmacies and stores to stock up. Have a blast!!:smooth:

Has anyone inquired about the cruise rate with Hampton Inn?
Is it a good deal?

I was also wondering if you leave your car at the hotel how do you get back to your car after your cruise.

Thanks,
Donna

Our rate was $69/night. We flew in on Saturday Oct.19th for our Sunday cruise and spent the night there. We drove over to Jetty Park to watch the Magic leave at 5:00, swam for a little bit in the ocean (did you see us on twopalms.com? LOL) and then did some shopping at the store for groceries (beer and dinner) as we just did microwave dinners and then to bed so we could get up nice and early to head over to the port. We used National and dropped the car off there and had a taxi bring us to the port. When we returned, we were also using National again to go to Disney and the same taxi came to pick us up and National rebates you the price ($11). We thought the pool looked nice, however didn't use it. The breakfast buffet (complimentary) was very good. They kept it well stocked and attended. The promo code we used for the rate was FALL I believe. It was right on their site.
