We have always stayed on Disney property. This year, I went with my husband, 14 year old daughter and her friend. We decided to stay offsite for the first time so we could have more space for the 2 teens.
We paid for parking the first day, and HATED spending the $20.
So...my husband and I went to guest services and upgraded our 7 day park hoppers to AP's, got a refund on the parking and didn't have to pay for the rest of the week. LOL!
We are so excited to be Annual Passholders. We got the AP slider for our bands and you'd think we won the lottery we were so happy. Hahaha.
Disney is so smart. We got the AP's, then we had 20% off a lot of store merchandise, so we probably shopped a little more than we normally would have, and then my husband and I booked another trip for just the two of us in 2 1/2 weeks. You know, because we have AP's now. Lol.
We spent quite a bit of money to save $140 in parking for the week.
Obviously we didn't just upgrade to save the parking $, but it was a factor in our decision.
