My husband and I are heading to Disney in September and took advantage of the Fairytale package! We've booked a room at the Boardwalk Inn - a place we've always walked by and loved!! But now I'm reading reviews that are less than favorable -- anyone stayed here??? I tried to move to the Yacht Club but it's not part of the package and would cost an extra $1200! Yipes.

Please let me know what you thought of the Boardwalk Inn.

Thank you.

We really enjoyed BWI last November.

Thought that the lobby and common areas were really beautiful. It's really got an elegant but not stuffy look to it. The rooms were larger than we'd had before at other resorts.

We had a standard room and had a great view of EPCOT and the fireworks. Had full balcony w/two chairs.

Have heard that rooms can be quite a hike from elevator but we requested close to it because of DM's mobility. We were in room 4298.

Also I liked the themed pool. It was good size and good slide but not so large that I could loose track of DD then 8.

The only down side was there wasn't really a restaurant or fast food court in the lobby but then you have the whole boardwalk area for that. And we could buy continental breakfast items in the lounge area off the lobby so that was fine.

Although we really liked it, we're trying out Yacht Club this year just for a change. Guess I'm on a quest to try out everything before settling on going back to the same resort. But aside from my quest, I wouldn't hesitate to go back to BWI!

Relax and have a wonderful time!

We stayed at the BWI a couple of years ago and LOVED it. On our recent trip we stayed at the GF and I would much rather stay at the BWI. Love the themeing there and also the location. You have all that the Boardwalk has to offer at your doorstep and you can walk to Epcot and take the boat to MGM. We had no problem with the accommodations and service. Haven't read any of the complaints on this board, but we were happy.

We just got back from a trip to the BWI and GF. We also preferred the BWI. Loved being able to walk to MGM and Epcot. The room was lovely and quiet (we had a view of the tops of World Showcase). It turned into our favorite resort. We've stayed at ASMu, CBR, WL, AKL, Poly, GF, BWI now. -HM

We stayed at the BWI last Labor Day, it was fantastic. We were in a garden suite and the concierge service was great. I'd stay there again if the right price came available :)

Thank you guys so much. Some other sites/books have said the rooms smelled? Although I'm not usually one to buy into that - I've also read that the rooms could be noisy with all the attractions right outside... but it sounds like you all had a great time! I feel much better. Thank you all!:D

BWI is beautiful, fun, convenient, luxurious, the pool is great...I've stayed there twice and never heard anyone complain about smelly rooms! Really, it's terrific! If you are concerned about noise, don't book a waterview room or if you book waterview, ask to not be above the Boardwalk itself.

We stayed there 1 night last December before moving to Boardwalk Villas with DVC points. I thought the room was beautiful, didn't notice any smells. My only complaint was our room was next to the walkway to the bus stop, people were always walking by and talking. I didn't put in any requests, so I guess we got what was left. I would stay there again, but this time would request a courtyard/Epcot view.

Speaking of smells -- our room did smell but that was our fault! I brought one of those collapsible coolers on wheels for that trip since we were going on the Wonder following our stay at BWI. Well, we filled it with ice and put it just outside the bathroom near the sinks. Wouldn't you know that it would leak. It caused a musty odor, but we just made sure the A/C was up high and that took care of it. Moral of the story -- if you bring a collapsible cooler, store it in the bathtub!

We stayed at the BWI in 1999. I really liked this resort and its theme. Our room had a patio looking out toward the ccourtyard and the garden suites not too far from the quiet pool. It was a very quiet area. I love the location and the convenience. We used the lounge in the morning where a continental breakfast could be purchased. We took our food outside and sat on the large veranda - very relaxing. I would stay at the BWI again. We have switched to the Swan/Dolphin b/c of terrific rates.

We stayed at the Boardwalk last summer for a week and we absolutely loved it! It is a beautiful resort, friendly CM's, large rooms, and the pool -- well, me and my kids couldn't stop going down the Keister Coaster slide! haha

Our room was on the first floor looking out into a beautiful garden courtyard. It wasn't far from the elevators, although taking a walk around the property we did notice that some rooms are quite far from elevators. We did wish that there was a restaurant located within the Boardwalk, in case of inclimate weather. But that aside, there were plenty of dining options out on the Boardwalk.

We loved the location here. Any of the Epcot resorts would be ideal since they all have access to the Boardwalk area, which reminded us of an old "Jersey Seaside" amusement park. But we are partial to the Boardwalk resort since we loved it so much there. Enjoy yourself! I'm jealous! ;)

We have stayed at the BWI twice and have loved it each time!! We haven't been back only because the last two trips involved going with family and friends and they wanted to stay at Yacht and Beach Club so we did too. Next time we'll get back to the BWI. It is a beautiful resort that offers so much! :D :D
