We arrived Wed. night around 8:45 p.m. Jan. 26th and stayed for 7 nights departed on Feb . 2nd around 11:00. It was very nice. We stayed back in the mid nineties and thought it was nice then too........it is really nice. We stayed on the 5th floor in the new section. IT was very nice.....huge room.....huge bathroom with huge vanity/mirror double sinks. The toilet and tub are in sep. room. WE had a balcony and a small fridge. WE slept quite good on the beds.....did get extra pillows though. My youngest slept on the small couch that makes into a bed....it was perfect for him or any child actually. HE is 6. The room has a large closet, round table and two chairs, nightstand between the two beds. We were happy. Housekeeping did a good job too. Oh.....the laundry room was on the 3rd floor of this new bldg. IT was 1.00 to wash and .75 to dry. They had 10 washers and 10 dryers. I had no problem getting our laundry done...there is a t.v. in there, soda and vending machine.

We ate breakfast at the Garden Galley restaurant downstairs....buffet style. IT is 7.99 for an adult and 4.99 a child. IT was decent....not Disney Character buffets by any means.....

We ate at the sports Grill in the back of the hotel by the pool the night we arrived. It was pretty decent. Limited menu but it was inexpensive. WE never ate at the dinner buffet or the Italian place. There did have a little counter service breakfast place right by the buses but we never got anything from there.

We walked to the Poly to catch the monorail for MK or EC. A couple of times a guy on a golf cart drove us down to the end of the driveway so all we had to do was cross the road and we were at the Poly. The buses ran on schedule..EXCEPT OUR LAST NIGHT....(I talked about this in my trip report). On our last night....which was a Tuesday...we did the EMH at EC. WE got back off the monorail and to the TTC bus area at 11:40....SOG runs every 15 min. back and forth from here....A BUS NEVER CAME. We waited with two other groups til 12:20 and finally called the hotel...they apologized and told us to take the monorail to the Poly and walk. THANK GOODNESS THAT WAS STILL RUNNING. The SOG are contracted out...not part of the WDW transportation. SO we ended up getting back around 12:40 to the hotel. The desk clerk had us fill out complaint forms and was very apologetic. There were 20 of us that this happened to.

Other than that mishap..........SOG was the perfect stay. We did miss the Disney Theming though. OH the Aafees shop was good too.....had a good selection and we went there most nights upon arriving back.

I'm glad to hear you had such a nice trip! Thanks for sharing the info. We will be going Sept. 14-21; staying in a Jr. Suite, 4 of us but maybe we could get by with one room? I was wondering ....

We booked the Gold Leaf Package and were wondering where the buffet breakfast and dinners are there.

Thanks! :)

What does the Jr. Suite get you?? We were fine in our room....We have three kids ages 14, 11 and 6. The little guy slept on the sofa bed....and the other beds are queen size. WE weren't in our room that much.....we literally left each morning anywhere from 7:30 to 8:30 and then didn't get back until 8 or 9:00. One day we came back for about 3 hours one afternoon to do laundry and let my son do his homework. The Garden Gallery Restaurant..I think that is the name....is where we ate breakfast 3 mornings. It was okay....but not Disney Breakfast standards elsewhere. They had the usual stuff....eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes waffles (YUCK) pancakes one morning were okay. They had oatmeal and horrible grits. They had pastriesj/donuts and fresh fruit, bread to toast. WE ate breakfast at Crystal Plaza and Chef Mickeys..........THEY WERE FANTASTIC....so SOG compared to those..didnt' compare. LOL WE never ate dinner at the hotel buffet. WE did get a sandwich at the sports grill our first night ...it was okay too. The prices are good. WE like to dine at WDW so we planned to eat at a few PS places. IF you have any other questions..please feel free to ask.

We stayed at Shades of Green in January and had a wonderful time. The hotel was clean, rooms were huge, and the staff was accommodating.
I would recommend it to anyone who is eligible to stay there. :earsboy:

It get's us breakfast and dinner buffet's each day for 6 days (we left one full day open for dinner at Boma and Cindies Breakfast) and we're on a tighter budget than normal and wanted to see La Nouba so most of our restaurant meals will be lunch time (Le Cellier, and 50's Prime Time Cafe). My guess is that we won't be around the resort much during the lunch hour. Although we WILL be bringing DD(10) back for some rest periods. She, and admitedly, Mom too, get cranky when we are tired!

We'll do the MYW with the park hopper add on.

There were originally 5 of us going but now that it's 4 I believe we'll just get one room and open up the suite for someone who really needs it.
