Stay Warm!

Thank you for getting that right for me! I will begin planning for my Australian Adventure soon ...with layers!
Are you really coming to Australia?!
Loosely translated from Italian as "long"-underwear (or thermal)!
We call those long johns also! Or thermals.

Llama, I just took a quick look at your profile because after glancing at your avatar, I couldn't believe you are a Mouseketeer given how incredible your presence is on the DIS. Saw that your likes out number your posts by approx 200. Wow. That's really something. Incredible. No doubt unique on the Boards. Don't know that other DIS'rs have picked up on that. You are one special Llama! :worship:
Last time I checked, mine was getting close, made me smile!

Here's my latest Storm warning received early this evening. Looks like the sub zero temps are ending but are quickly being replaced by a storm coming in Mon night and thru into Tues. If you live in the Northeast, definitely check with your own local weather network. Fingers crossed this is just a little winter weather bump. Cheers!

"Winter storm threatening Monday night and Tuesday. A low pressure area emerging from Texas is forecast to track northeast along the Appalachians Monday night and Tuesday then into northern New England by Tuesday Night. This low is expected to intensify into a winter storm as it approaches Canada. Snow is expected to move north across the International Border sometime Monday night or Tuesday morning. Significant amounts of snow are possible Tuesday across the region, with freezing rain and ice pellets also quite possible especially in the St. Lawrence Valley. Travelling conditions may quickly deteriorate and become hazardous as the heavy snow and freezing precipitation move in on Tuesday. There is still uncertainty as to the exact track of this low and how far north the snow will get into Canada. This will affect how much snow falls, as well as whether or not freezing precipitation occurs. Environment Canada is closely monitoring this situation. Winter storm watches and warnings may be required as the event draws closer. Please continue to monitor alerts and forecasts issued by Environment Canada. To report severe weather, send an email to storm.ontario@ec.gc.ca or tweet reports to #ONStorm."

Yep, combo snow/freezing rain expected where I am......hope all stay warm, and don't get too much ice/snow. Hopefully some are lucky enough to be off, at least part of the upcoming week.

Here in NJ, the forecast is calling for maybe an inch of snow tomorrow but it won't last as the predicted high for Tuesday is 56°.

We would love to come to Austrailia -it's on our "to do" list! But I've got at least 5-years before I could actually get out there. We are planning a couple good sized trips in the coming 5-years; one to Europe and another to Hawaii that I'm working on now. I'm keeping my fingers crossed ...at least I know where I can get some reliable travel tips!

Congrats, Jes! Well done. I'm lucky to be puttering along at 50%. But I know why I'm lagging. For months now, I've secretly been out flaming noobs on the Dining Forum. :P

Im really in a sad way ...barely looking at 10%!

Don't feel bad. The longer you've been here, the lower you're ratio is going to be. They only added the "Like" feature when they went to the new system last year. I've been here since 2002 so 13 years with no "Like" button.

Desperately hoping. So far, every storm has stopped in the lower Hudson Valley. Kids are home all week - some good snow to go out and play in would be awesome (and at least DS gets to go off skiing with friends tomorrow now that the arctic temps are leaving).

We are in the lower Hudson Valley as well - though our kids don't have off this week (since we started the school year late no winter break for us (only Monday off). We'll see how we do then as far as school closings for the weather

With the AUD so poor at the moment, there's never been a better time to come here!!
Pop Hawaii on a shelf and come down under!!

Wow...you're right $0.72 for 1AUD. I didn't even realize. That IS something to think about! Really making it tougher for you heading here though.

Yeah, and I actually get it for less than that. The XE rate is currently $0.7118 and my bank will sell it to me at $0.6774, so even worse than what you're seeing!! Lol
But makes it so good for y'all to come here.
And I would say do it now because your economy can't sustain what's happening and from what I've been told, what happened in 2008 could very well happen again, even as soon as some time in 2016, which will push our dollar back up (eg on August 4 2011, our dollar was buying $1.1032 USD) so with any luck my way, in 2-3 years, we are back up at parity (or higher) otherwise I won't be coming back for a very long time :-(

Jes, how is it cost-wise for you to travel to Japan. It's a lot closer, obviously. Is Tokyo Disneyland an option for you? Or Hong Kong or Shanghai for that matter.
Flights are cheaper but Japan is so expensive
Plus, in theory, the trip isn't about disney, and I'm not sure that Leigh really wants to visit Japan
