Stay onsite in September for express pass??

We will be going to universal studios on Thurs. Sept 16 and Sept 17. We were going to stay in a cheap hotel but I am really wanting to skip lines with the express pass you get with staying onsite. Would it be worth paying extra to skip lines or will the lines be short enough in September that we wont need it? I also wanted to make sure Im understanding this right you can stay 1 night but skip lines both days?

You are right that one night equals 2 days of express access. I don't know how the crowds will be affected this year but September the kids are back in school so that should help the crowds some, if you are going after labor day then that will also start the downturn period.

Normally September is really quiet with 5 - 10 min waits at the most. However WWOHP is bound to make both parks a bit busier.

We are thinking about staying onsite around the 21st Sep.
