Stay Off The Scale Challenge - Final Update (please post your weight loss)

Hannosmom - I didn't know if anyone would get my reference to "young" Mr. Grace. I just love that show. It comes on in local viewing area every night at 11:00 and I find myself watchig it alot even though I've seen every episode several times! Mrs. Slokum is my favorite character! I'm sure the coolest looking 52 year old. I don't think any of us are going for model status but being healthy and normal looking are sure at the top of my list. Oh, and wearing a size 10. Okay, I really want to wear a size 8 but we'll see.

Lisa ~ Didn't know that they showed Are You Being Served in the US. Wasn't sure the humour would travel very well. It is one of my favourite shows although it has been finished here for a long time now. They did make a follow-up series but it wasn't set in a department store.

I love that show. And I just love Keeping up Appearances. So funny.
My problem area right now is my inner thighs. Just can't seem to get them back where I had them prior to my last child being born (#4). If I could just lose there I would be thrilled. So Bun and Thigh Max will hang around a little longer. I really started to slack on excercise after vacation. Need to get back in the groove. Oh well. At least it will be easy to stay off the scale this weekend, we will be out of town. No scale to weigh on. I just hope I can do well on my diet. I found a really good low carb cheesecake. Problem is the servings are so small, so of course I have 2 servings. Not good for me. Must be strong. Anyway, hang in there everybody. You're all doing great.

alright!!! I've completed another day off the scale. How wonderful. I didn't think that I'd make it this far, but I've surprised even myself

Hi all! Just checking in one more time before nighty night. We just came back from a lack luster lc dinner at Ruby Tuesdays. That's the first time I've had a meal there with the service and food so "off". Unfortunately, I ate very late and that spelled disaster for me. I didn't eat anything off plan - although the lc chicken kasadias (yes I know I spelled it pitifully wrong) was suspect. I kept asking was the torilla really made from whole grain and was assured it was, oh well.

Anyway, in adition to loving Are you being served, (I like both the story line in the department store and on the farm. I also love Keeping up Appearances, that Hyacinth is a hoot. I love it when she says her name is "bouquet" when someone calls her "bucket". Too funny! I also like "My Hero" with Thermoman. There are several British shows that are so funny. I do admit some of the humor does go right over my head but I do get most of it.

Okay, off to bed now. See you all tomorrow!

Sheree - that makes two of us that didn't think we'd make it this far. It's been almost 3 weeks and if I can go this long and not know the number on the scale, when our challenge is over, I shouldn't have any problem weighing just once a week. I think I might be cured! Ha!

Good Morning,
Sitting here munching on my apple and thinking about how long it has been since I have stepped on the scale. Wow. A long time.
So far I am not tempted. But the closer I get to the end of the challenge I bet it will be like opening a Christmas present.

Well I'm off to work. I'm looking forward to going to Disney World this weekend. We are staying at CSR. I just have to stick to eating healthy...

Have a great day everyone.

good morning all. Another day so far off the scale.

Lisa, I hope that I'm cured. One thing I have been thinking about is if after all this, I can stay off that darn thing but once a week. So, saying that.......

Do you think that after this challenge, you will go back to being a scale junkie, or will you try to stick to once a week weighing?

Good afternoon all you weigh free challengers!!!!

Here we go bravely into another day without knowing the number on the scale. You are all doing so well and I'm so proud to be a part of this challenge!

Sheree - it's scary because we've said it before, but we do think alot alike. I was just going to post the very same question for today!

I was just thinking to myself if I am really cured of that daily weighing thing and wanted to know how each of you feel about it. It's been almost 3 weeks and we haven't weighed ourselves. What happens when the challenge is over? Will I/we go back to weighing obsessively? I hope not. I like this feeling of control. I do miss changing my weight loss clippie and look forward to doing that again when I know the numbers from the scale but I don't want to go back to jumping on the scale everytime I go in my bedroom, night and day and getting frustrated at the fluxuating number. So, in a nutshell, I do hope to go back to my once weekly weighing after our challenge is over.

July - I didn't even realize you lived in Florida. You are so fortunate to be able to go when you like because you live so close. You can stay on program at Disney, it isn't that hard but it does take determination and a little bit of focus. You can do it!!! Have a great trip!!

Have a great weigh free Thursday everyone!!! :jester:

For the most part I have found this challenge to be ok. Finally taking control of what Iput into my body is far more important than what the scales say .... so I have decided that once I have completed this challenge I am only going to weigh myself once a month.

I have to admit that this challenge has been difficult on some days. Like when I feel extra puffy, or when I feel like my clothes are looser. That's when I really want to know. Which is why I have the scale shoved under a dresser, too difficult to retrieve. (I would actually have to bend over:rolleyes: :D )

The challenge has really helped me get over my scale obsession. I think I will be able to stick to a once a week weigh in after we are done. (But I am really looking forward to weighing again, sigh)

No desire to see what it says - but I am getting curious because my clothes are fitting looser again!

Also told my mother that she needs to put her scale away for a while as well - this did not go over too well. She's a twice or more times per day gal...No way that weighing in the afternoon is conducive good mental health!

LAinSEA - I promoted you up the ranks!!! Good job, keep it up. We're getting close to the end and soon we can all weigh and find out just how well we've done. I was like your mom, and that's why I wanted to do this challenge. It was driving me crazy weighing in the morning, afternoon and sometimes several times at night. Now I think I'm strong enough to weigh just once a week.

Welcome to day 19 of the stay off the scale challenge. We only have 11 more to go ladies!!! We can do this!!!!

Okay, here's today's question:
What will your life be like or how will it change when you reach goal?

As some of you may know, I'm wearing a size 14 jeans today down from a size 26 just 7 months ago and I'm thrilled with this milestone. But it got me thinking that one day (hopefully) I'll be at goal and then what? I have been dieting (or trying not to diet) my whole life. I didn't gain weight after kids, a medical illness or some traumatic event in my life. I've always been overweight. Once I'm fully and finally at my ideal size and weight, what in the world am I going to do with all the time and energy I have put into taking this weight off? I hav no idea but I feel like the possibilities are endless! I'd love to hear your thoughts!

Hang tough everyone, as Nancy Tucker (a Firm instructor) says, "the end is in sight!" :teeth:

Well I will be a size 10ish and every store I go into I will be able to slide into a 10 and buy it if I wish! I will remain Low Carb for life but will probably be less strict - Right now I average 22carbs/day. I will continue to exercise religously as I feel this is key! I will weigh less but when I hit size 10ish no matter the wgt I stop - this is GOAL to me!

I think I will become a clothes-aholic! Yes definately a clothes-aholic!

Sue:D

Another day off the scale. We only have one week left on this challenge and I know that we can finish it

When I reach goal, I'm not sure what my life will be like. At our last weigh-in, I was at 148. 18 pounds from my goal. I just know that I want to reach that goal and maintain it. That will be the hard part. I will stay low-carb for life also. Plus maybe by then I'll be in a 7/8 so,life will be good.

Stay strong everyone

Sue and Sheree - I agree with both of you that I plan on staying lc for life. This has been the only thing that has ever worked for me so I'm not going back to my old eating habits. I'd like to be a size 10 but that size 8 keeps nagging at the back of my mind. I think I just want to see if I can get down to that size.

Way to go guys! We can do this, we've made it this far and there's no turning back now!!!! :sunny:

I can't believe that we are nering the end of another week. The time has flown by.

When I reach goal and finally have to stop worrying about dieting more maintaining. For me it will mean the end of "what ifs". In the past I have found myself turning down invitiations for functions because I truly had nothing that would fit me to wear. Finding myself opening the closet door looking for items of clothing that I knew wouldn't fit.

It will truly be a fantastic day for me when I can put any item of clothing I own on and know that it will fit me.

Good Morning everybody. Wow, it's Saturdy already. I was off the scales yesterday and plan off again today. We are almost there, I can hardly believe it

Good Saturday evening challengers!

We should be so proud of ourselves as we prepare to say buh-bye to Day 20. Only 10 days left until our challenge ends and everyone has done so well. Today was another day off the scale for me too. As we get down to the wire, I'm wondering with excitement, just what that evil scale will be saying to me on August 4th!

Anyway, I'll check in again tomorrow. Let's all stay strong and stay weigh free!!!

Well if we can all hang in there one more day, we can say that we have been on this challenge for 3 full weeks!!!! I never thought I'd get this far with it. Today was another day of not weighing and even though it's hard, it's definitely worth it. I'm proud and happy to have struggled to make it this far and I truly do feel like I can weigh just once per week now.

I hope you ladies are all doing well and having a wonderful and weigh free weekend. Please make sure to check in tomorrow if you can so I can do the promoting up the ranks.
