Stay night before a cruise

Have any of you stayed at Grand California, DL resort or Paradise pier before a cruise? I am going to be leaving on Saturday, March 14th from the Port of LA for a Mexican Riviera cruise. I am trying to decide if I should use my DVC points for a night stay so that we can have jump on the morning for the day of the cruise. I guess we could sit out by the pool in the morning (after a nice breakfast) or walk around Downtown Disney etc. I am coming from San Francisco.

What do you all think? Should I concider this?

We did this last year and loved it. The points are high but the resort is so beautiful and the CM's are great.

We stayed two nights at the DLH in March 2006 before we went on a similar cruise. Lovbed it - the CMs were so nice. We even got upgraded to a pool view and my DH got a birthday button.
