Stay at Paradise Pier, Fairfield Inn, or Tropicana Inn

I have stayed at the PPH and Tropicana and although staying on Disney property can be fun they only real benefit is early entry everyday. The Tropicana is easy walking distance, quiet and the rooms have recently be renovated. There is a small store on property that has a nice selection of needs. There are a few restaurants in walking distance and the pool area was clean. It is now my hotel of choice and it would take a huge discount or a great benefit to get me back into a Disneyland property hotel.

Thanks! I don’t think we will even use a pool since we only have 3 days. I could see us being in the parks all day each day. Where do you normally buy from for the Tropicana?

I call the Tropicana directly and have always gotten a slightly lower rate than any of the websites.

Yeah we don’t have kids and are still in our low 20s so I’m not sure HoJo would benefit us. I doubt we would even use the pool. I’m heavily leaning towards the Tropicana now.

Sorry I was unclear in my post - I meant that we might have to try Tropicana sometime, not that you should try HOJO. With the upgrade Tropicana has done and how close they are - I think it would be ideal - especially if you are planning to be in the parks most of the time. Then you really just need a clean, comfortable and close place to sleep.

I got what you meant lol. I was just speaking my thoughts out loud. I really would like the ee by staying at a Disney hotel but it seems too expensive.

Do you have any thoughts on the park vue inn or best western plus Anaheim?

Then it might be with it for you to stay onsite. Our family stays on-site because the the EE’s as well. How much of a price difference is PP compared to DLH? The PP is a far walk now that you can’t cut through the GCH

I don’t remember exactly the difference between pp and dlh but the difference between any of the on site hotels vs off site is a huge difference. Almost $1000 if I remember correctly (that’s with a ticket package through Disney). I can look more into the difference through kayak.

On-site vs Off-site is a difference of $1000...

If you aren't going to hang-out in and around the Disney hotel, Stay off-site and save!!!
I can only speak for rooms at the Tropicana and staying there and saving $$ is still a fine trip. Maybe even better....

Room with 3day park hopper at paradise pier is $2243. Room with 3day park hopper at Tropicana is $1475. Room with 3day park hopper at Fairfield is $1395.

I’m looking at sept 17-21. It’s supposed to be a slower time there.

Another vote for Tropicana. I stayed there November and it was great. The little convenience store attached to the hotel was awesome. The rooms are clean and comfortable. The big winner for this hotel is location--it is really nice to stay right across from the park. I've stayed at both Fairfield and Paradise Pier and would choose Tropicana over them. Fairfield is nice, but set back a little too far--it's not like it's not close, but Tropicana is closer and I like the vibe more. Paradise Pier is great and all, but it's the farthest and most expensive. If you're willing to spend Paradise Pier money, stay off-site instead and put that money towards a nice meal, a tour, or some other "splurge" like activity.

This is great thank you! Do you know how much the parking is at Tropicana? I’ve never had to pay for parking before at a hotel.

I’d choose Tropicana over PP also. Closer and saves a lot of $. Park Vue has free parking and breakfast, I’ve stayed there several times and love the location. But I’ve considered Tropicana too and would stay there if it was cheaper.

I actually was just looking at Park Vue also. Would you say if it's cheaper to go with that instead of Tropicana? Also, will we have time to eat the breakfast in the morning before going to the parks? I wasn't sure if it would open later than when we would want to be at the entrance.
