Hey guys my cousin is down for the weekend specifically for HHN but he bought a day ticket for the parks so we could take advantage of Stay and Scream...how does that work exactly? Also, I'm planning on using an employee ID to get into HHN so does that count as a way to use Stay and Scream? We're going tomorrow so answers ASAP are appreciated:thumbsup2

Thanks guys!

You have to be in the park prior to closing and have a valid HHN ticket for that night to do S & S. They scan your ticket as you enter the holding area.

Ok so like by 4 o'clock should be good? And an employee ID should be allowed right? It scans like a ticket

Yeah...4pm should be good. I got there tonight around 3:45pm with no problems. The holding area doesn't open until 5pm so you can walk around until then. I guess an employee badge is OK...but I can't confirm since I don't work there.

I didn't know about the stay and scream. I have the ffp and a day ticket...can I stay in the holding area? I haven't been to hhn since 2005 and did not know about a holding area. I thought I would have to leave the park and get back in the line with all the new people at 6:30. What time did they let you out last night, and where are the holding areas... How big are they and can you eat and shop..maybe ride something..as you can see I KNOW NOTHING about this...HELP? :scared1:

As long as you are in the park, and have a valid HHN ticket for that night, you can stay in the holding area. There is one on Delancey Street, in NY and I believe one by KidZone. If you go to the New York one, you can eat at Finnegan's while you wait, there are no shops or rides however. Normally you get out before the normal crowds come in and can get a few houses down (the soundstage houses) before the lines start forming.

We got a table for four at Finnegans at about 4.30 with no problem and took our time ordering and stuff. Sometime in between the time we were sitting there waiting for food they announced that someone would be scanning tickets and the park would reopen for HHN at 6.30 but we could probably leave at 6.15. Sure enough, a lady came by our table to scan our tickets...

...and YES, the employee ID worked out fine.

Then, at around 5.30 we went outside where the whole street Finnegans is on is blocked off with fencing and staff members. You can watch the nurses setting up there blood bags and hear the music start to play.

I went to the bathroom and got startled by the guys coming in yelling at me to finish up because they were letting people in:lmao: By 5.50 (almost half an hour before we expected), they let us go and we got to do Legendary Truth. We got about 3 houses done before the park opened (Legendary Truth, Hades, Orfanage) and got everything else in at a leisurely pace before 8. Then we went around for seconds!:cool1:

Stay and Scream saved us and my cousin went home very satisfied. The lines were NOT long through the rest of the night so it would've been do-able without that option but we're glad we took advantage of it so thanks for the responses.

Btw, this year is IMO the best since I started going in 2007.

We were released at 5:50pm Friday night too. Glad you had a good time. You should try to come on 10/10 since there will be lots of DISers doing S & S that night.

Are these the only houses open early before it officially opens to the park or are they all open.

also anyone remember the showtimes for bill and ted and the malice version of brian brushwood on a night that closes at 12

The houses have staggered opening times. For example...The Legendary Truth is the S & S house so that one will be open early every night. Hades was also open at 6pm but others opened at 6:30pm or there abouts.

Show times for Bill and Ted are: 7:30, 8:45, 10:00 and 11:15pm
Show times for Brian Bushwood are: 7:00, 8:15, 9:45 and 11:00pm

Thanks for the info--what holding area do you recommend to hit the houses the fastest---new york or kidzone

The only area I go to is the main area on Delancey Street in NY. I'm not sure what the S & S house for the other area is. I did three houses (The Legendary Truth, Hades and The Orfanage) in a matter of about 15 minutes after we were released at 5:50pm. I'm sure it's similar experience in the other area as well...just different houses.

ok great--WOW 3 house in 15 minutes that is amazing--this thursday is the first time doing a stay and scream and really hope we have the same kind of luck:thumbsup2

Here's a question:

We are going down on Oct 24th and bought express passes to HHN. We are staying at the Hard rock Club level - so I would like to take advantage of the open bar :) and 'pre-game' before heading into the park.

Do you think it is necessary to do the Stay and Scream? or can I just walk into the park at 7pm and see everything and hit all the shows with no problem?

I don't think you would walk in at 7pm that late in the month and see everything in a single night. You would be wise doing S & S but since you have EPs for that night, you might be OK.

Glad to hear the NY S&S option is still there...I was stuck in Kidzone one year....BOOOOORRRINNNGGG!!!! I usually dont eat at Finnigens, but at least the area is MUCH more active and close to the houses in the soundstages...

Can't wait...10/27 is my night this year!

What time does HHN close?

How long does it take to do everything - just HHN related - shows, houses, scare zones, stores.. I have the other days to go on the rides.

2 adults no kids. Thanks :)

In general HHN closes at midnight on Wednesday thusday and Sunday and 2 on Friday and Saturday. On those peak nights it'll take the whole night just to do all the houses, maybe only up to 6, and you'd have to walk through scarezones on your way to see those.
