hi Sam

I done animal kingdom lodge for two weeks and then 1 week on the Disney fantasy in 2019

was an amazing holiday, it did cost about 15 grand though lol and that was just two of us

where u thinking of staying in Disney

Yea staying on Disney just left all stars Thursday it’s had the rooms re done comfortable but this time more arts of ama to ues skylineer

We do this all of the time, but not a 2 week stay at WDW. Usually do 7+ night cruises too. We never just cruise. Doing the cruise afterwards is better in my opinion, because the cruise is more relaxing. We do laundry on the ship. We don't go through DCL for the WDW part though; we just book the room/tickets for WDW separate.

how long do you normally do in the parks

last time we done a cruise we doing few night at universal then 7 night Disney cruise then a week at Disney to finish

getting off the cruise and going straight home is to sad so try to do parks before and after

We've done WDW + DCL + WDW. Much better unwinding back at WDW after a cruise because we knew EXACTLY what to expect (WDW feels like a Home away from Home) and could do Parks or not.

We will be flying in from South Korea when we have 10 nights planned at Shades of Green followed by a B2B on the Wish in July/August 2023. If you can find the time and the financing, it is a great way to enjoy a real vacation when you have to travel so far to get started. I can’t justify doing that more than every couple of years, but we all have a great time.

A longer stay at a resort also makes it easier to get some of the covet dining reservations since you can book for the entire stay beginning 60 days out from your first day.

We usually do a few days at Universal, 5-7 days at Disney, and then the 7+ night cruise. Since those debark on Saturday, we spend Saturday and Sunday at Disney and fly home Sunday night.

Disney World followed by a cruise is fantastic. You can book a bus right from your resort to the cruise.

Many times. Sometimes do WDW first, then cruise. Or cruise then WDW. Or sandwich cruise between WDW.

Each has its own advantages and disadvantages, at least for us:

WDW/Cruise:
. good: cruise is more relaxing and you can let your feet rest a bit after running through the parks for several days;
. bad: you head from the cruise to the airport and have to go home after a lovely relaxing trip.

Cruise/WDW:
. good: after the cruise, you still get more of the Disney fix;
. bad: it's weird having to pay for food in the parks after just grabbing and going on the cruise

WDW/cruise/WDW:
. good: you get a relaxing break after running through the parks; after the cruise you don't have to head right home, and get more Disney fix. You can selectively choose attractions/parks to go to that you want a last kick at without feeling like you need to run around doing everything like maybe you did before the cruise. It allows you to slowly ease out of Disney and feel like you've done all you want to do
. bad: still weird having to pay for food after the cruise. You need substantial vacation time (not that this is a bad thing, but it may be harder to arrange).

The latter is my favourite, but is something we're less able to swing. When we are able to do a longer vacation, we tend to do Europe so we haven't been able to do this as often as I'd like.

I've been thinking about this since you posted the question. My first impression was WDW for 2 weeks and then the cruise to unwind, heal the feet, and relax. The more I think about it, though, I think a week at WDW, week cruise, and then a week back at the parks makes the most sense.

Two weeks straight is a long time at the parks and hotels at Disney. I also think getting off the ship and flying back to the UK immediately is a let down. Lastly, what if you don't love the cruise? If that's the case, you might want a week back at a place you obviously love to scratch the Disney itch.

Any way you do this, you can't go wrong.
