Does anyknow know if the construction at the Magic Kingdom monorail station is completed? I heard that there have been some major lines for the resort monorial as the express monorail has been closed.

Thanks!

DH went to MK this morning just for a haircut and returned not long ago. He was complaining about how messed up the monorail was. As you state, the express was still not operating. He HAD to take the boat.
Then he said to top if off at TTC, where guests enter the gate(s) to board the boat or monorail, CMs were checking park passes. Not only were they just viewing the tickets, they were READING them.
He said the line just to enter that area was backed way up. No guests were anticipating having to prove they could enter, so everyone was digging around for their passes.
And then like he said, the CMs were READING the passes to make sure anyone entering had a valid ticket.
He said it was a real mess this morning and could not believe how badly it was set up.
He just thought the timing really stunk, and then to make guests shows valid passes where they did not need to really made the bad situation worse.

Does anyone have any idea when the construction is going to be completed? Wonder how this is affecting the resort line? I heard that all guests exiting the MK were being directed to the resort line!

With May 5th coming up and the crowds that will bring I would hope they will wrap it up soon. :goodvibes :wizard: :flower:

I read that they will not complete the construction until the 1st week of June. Kind of puts a damper on my 1st Poly visit, as we were hoping for the Resort Monorail to avoid the never ending lines for the Express Monorail back to the TTC from the MK.

well blah i leave for the poly tommorow for my first poly stay too. i don't want a crowded monorail that is not fair for the 3 magic kingdom resorts. hopefully they shoo others to the ferry

If I were you, I'd jump on the boat over to Magic Kingdom, not the ferry mind you but the boat directly from the Poly over to MK. :earsboy:

We took the boat from the Poly to the MK after the Luau our last trip and it was very quick!

We normally drive so we don't have to fight with crowds on the bus (I have a double stroller), but now I'm thinking it might be better to just take the bus from PO-R, huh?

Actually you'll be fine at the Polly if you take the launch (not the ferryboat) to the MK.

It would be possible for every other monorail train to skip the Transportation and Ticket Center and that would reduce wait times for resort guests.

Alternatively they could convert the Poly, Grand Flo, and Contemp. to bus service during peak hours.

Thanks for the Poly boat launch info. I have a feeling it will be more crowded than usual though as others escape the lines from the monorail too. It only seats a small number of people though, right? Maybe 30 or so? Can you take an umbrella stroller on the launch? Thanks!

When the park closes at night there is still a very long line even for the resort monorail.

We just got back from an 8-night, 9-stay at the Poly; we never experienced any long lines at the monorail stations. Sometimes it was standing-room only inside the monorails, but we walked right on to every monorail that came along.

We only used the resort monorail; never used the express....
