I'm new to these boards, so I hope I'm doing this right!

We're booked on the 3-night Wonder on July 24th in a Category 6 Stateroom (Deluxe w/Verandah). Because DH is afraid of getting seasick, we booked a stateroom mid-ship but it's one of those Cat. 6's that say "sleep 3-4." The Cat 6's that sleep 4 are forward on the ship.

I have four people; me, DH, and 2 DD's. Daughters are 5 and 6. Is the convertible sofa big enough for both of my kids? Any other families been in this predicament?

Counting down the days!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:bounce:

I've laid down with DS (age 8) on that "couch bed" and it was fine for us!

I love the verandah and although I have extreme challenges with motion sickness, I have been on DCL 5 times (3 were 7 night cruises) and even in some high seas with wind, I was okay.
We have always had AFT and been very pleased with Category 6 verandah rooms - one thing is the excellent view and privacy of your own deck. Last December DH and I caught colds at WDW and chose to remain in our stateroom for much of the cruise - having the verandah made all the difference since we were able to enjoy the view, sea air and meals on there were very nice!

I recommend over the counter Bonine and/or wristbands. Both work for me and I have most of my trouble when we in the airplanes.

Good luck and enjoy your cruise!

Thank you so much for the information! The convertible sofa LOOKED big enough, but thanks to you I know for sure!

I also want you to know that I clicked on the page about Kayla and read your story. I wholeheartedly support organ donation, too, although I haven't been as close to the experience as you have. God bless you and your family.

SeaGirl - If you're traveling with 4 people, you're booked into a room that can hold 4 people. DCL CAN NOT book you in a room that sleeps 3, with 4 people. Your setup will be a queen bed, and two bunk beds. The sofa isn't a traditional pull out. It "flips" over to reveal a twin sized bed. There is also another twin bed that comes down from the ceiling above the sofa bed, to create bunk beds.

Thanks for your reply, SeaGirl - glad to know you are an organ donation supporter. It takes so little to say "YES" but gives a second chance for life for so many.

She was worth the loss, and we were privileged to have her for those 7 years.

And yes, the convertible sofa is pretty comfortable too! And so nice to lie down on and look out at the ocean!
Ohhh, I forgot to mention the beauty of seeing a storm at sea (in the distance, of course!) the lightening was awesome!

We recently were on the Wonder, cat 6, deck 6, midship. It most definitely was for 4 people. Not only was there the convertable sofa bed, but there was a pull down berth from the ceiling.
We were in 6060, great location, and very quiet (even though we were close to the elevators) Having the verandah was nice too. When the kids were still asleep in the morning or tuckered out at night dh and I could go out and watch the ocean and talk without whispering.

You are going to have SO MUCH FUN! :)

We're in stateroom 6058, midship. I' glad to hear that it's not as noisy as I had anticipated. Our travel agent wanted us to be close to elevators but I was worried about noise. I feel so much better now!

Thanks to ALL of you for your quick replies to my question. I'm so excited I can hardly stand it! I still haven't been able to find anyone else who's sailing on July 24th though.

And, you're right, I'm going to have a great time!!!!!!!!

6058, huh? I think that's our stateroom for one of our future cruises. Only b/c 6060 was already taken!
