Just booked stateroom # 5022 for 7 day western march 12, 2005.

Any comments on this room or the location.
Also ther are 3 in my party and I'm thinking of bringing along one more person.
Will the cabin hold four people?

That is a secret porthole room. And yes the cabin does sleep 4.

Sigh....my favorite room!
Love the location, too.

Enjoy!!:cool2:

Can you tell me why you like this room? What category
is it? (Never cruised before-just looking for info).

These "Secret Porthole" rooms are actually an obstructed "Oceanview" with a large porthole, that are priced as a "Deluxe Inside" cat. 10 stateroom. There are only 6 of them on the whole ship and they are located on Deck 5.

I just book one for April 2005 (it was the last one left). These rooms are also located just behind the Oceaneers Lab which can be good or bad depending on your point of view! :hyper: This location is a plus for us since our younger DS never wanted to leave the club.

Barbs website at www.castawayclub.com has some good pictures of what the obstructed view is like.

We have stayed in SPR 5020 twice and have it booked again for next August. You are going to love your room and its' location. It can't be beat. Enjoy!!

We'll be in 5020 for our April 2005 Eastern. Can't wait! Stayed in a Cat 6 April 2003 and realized we spent very little time on our verandah, nice as it was; spent much more time on decks 9 and 10; decided to economize next time!

BriarfoxinWA - what is your April 2005 date?

We're booked for the April 2, 2005 Eastern.

We also had a Cat. 6 room for our last cruise and loved it. But we just didn't spend that much time using the verandah.

Did u ask for this room or know about it ?????
It will sleep 4 If u would like to see pictures go to www.castawayclub.com and look under state rooms

DawnL...We are booked in 5020 for the March 4 3 day wonder! Can you tell me is it a large or small window?

Check out Barb's website - she has pictures of the view from each room. It's a LARGE round window (porthole).

The Brechun's,
We are also on the March 12, 2005 cruise. Glad to see others here going on this cruise. Hope to see you on board.

Better bring earplugs. From cabin 5022 you'll be privy to every conversation the people in 5024 have, and keep in mind they'll be hearing you. Just pray they don't have a baby or loud kids. There's a connecting door between these 2 cabins, and the soundproofing is pretty much absent....same is true of all the connecting rooms, but 5024 is the only one I've personally stayed in (and never will again).

We were in a connecting room on our last cruise and had no problems. We had a family on one side that had two staterooms one on deck 6 next to us and one on deck 7. They had a teenager in charge of his 2 or 3 younger brothers and they pretty much ran amok the entire time. We really didn't even hear them...and no, I'm not hard of hearing either. I think that it just depends on how sensitive you are to the noise around you - whether it bothers you or not.

We stayed in room 5022, my inlaws has 5024, and my sister inlaw had 5020.. no problems with noise.. we love these rooms, infact we are going again in the summer of 2005 and i need to scoop up all six of those secret porthole rooms.. so i keep calling everyday to see if the summer rates are out yet.
love the rooms..

SPR #5020 has a large porthole window. The window is set back a little, but with almost no obstruction. SPR 5020 and 5520 have the least amount of obstruction, but I wouldn't hesitate to book any of the other SPR rooms either. The locations of these rooms can't be beat for easy access to elevators, kids clubs, and any where else on the ship. You will see what I mean!! Enjoy!!

I want one of those rooms for September 2005 too, but I was told not to expect the rest of 2005 to open up until late December or January at the earliest.

I keep checking this board in hopes that we get a 'heads up' on the openning of the dates.

:wave2: Just thought I'd post that we're right next door in Stateroom #5020 on the same cruise. :) So far it's me & DD (who will be 17 when we cruise) & possibly a friend of mine or maybe even DH (but at this point, a DC doesn't appeal to him). I see you're from Mississauga...of all the rooms on the ship, we're 2 Canadians side by side. :)

We just got back yesterday from 10 days in WDW & can't wait now for our cruise (we may have to slip another "little" trip to WDW in before then because it's such a long time away. ;)) Happy planning.
