Stategy for this Saturday/Sunday DL/DCA Visit

Can someone instill some wisdom on the following questions:

If we aren't sure how many more times we will be visiting the parks on a Saturday this year, should we buy the cheaper passport, and upgrade when we opt to do another Saturday visit?...the price difference seems to be $190.

If we are arriving around noon on Saturday, should we rush to get a Car's Land fastpass, and then get a Haunted Mansion fastpass for later that night once 2 hours has passed?

or, should we get a Haunted Mansion fastpass first to ensure we get on the ride at a decent hour? Not sure how crowded Cars land is these days.

We opted out of going to visit my mother in law this weekend , thinking that this weekend will be less crowded than next weekend. Thoughts?

Don't know about the passports, but Carsland fast passes will probably be gone by noon on Saturday. Seems they are running out between 10 and 11, and Haunted Mansion does not have fast passes this year.
