State of Play at DCA in August 2012

We're looking at coming to California next summer and deciding whether to add a weekend at DLR. A lot will depend on the state of play/reconstruction at DCA when we would be there, mid-August 2012. Does anyone know what the state of reconstruction will be then, such as what is planned to be completed and what still will be ongoing? If there is a reference to a planned completion schedule, that would be helpful, too.

Unless there are serious construction delays, DCA should be all done. While no official opening has been announced, Carsland and Buena Vista Street should be open in time for the summer 2012 crowds. Late June seems to be the general consensus as the opening date. It should be the first time in I don't know how long no construction walls will be in DCA.

Can't wait to see it myself!

Thanks for the update. I had heard that some of the work was going to stretch into 2013, but it will be awesome if things are done for August 2012. I've always liked DCA and the redesign should make it even better.

I'm not sure where you heard it will strech into 2013. It's probably either a terrible and uninformed source, or they were talking about the rumor of phase 2 construction.
