State of Florida Employee - discount?

I work for the state of Florida, a university to be exact, and am employed in the city of Miami (I have an office and work address in Miami). However, I am deployed out of state and therefore live out of state. So, I can show a university ID and provide a mailing address but not a residential address in Florida.

Am I out of luck as far as receiving Florida resident discounts?

I've been wondering about this for a couple years and appreciate anyone who can clarify this for me.
