Does anyone ever win on these?

I buy 5 or 6 a month & never really win more than $3 to $5. I guess I'm just not lucky.:(

I won $100 once, years ago. I used to operate a machine, and yes people do win larger sums of money, but for the most part those tickets win $20 or less.

I used to buy $10 to $20 worth every week, and over the years I've had a little bit of luck--I've won $20 or $40 many times. I've one a $100 a few times. I've won $200 once or twice, and I've won $400 twice. Never any really big wins ($1000 or more).

It's definitely a luck thing. Some people seem to have more luck than others. Gambling will always beat you in the long run.

That being said, I have pretty much stopped buying tickets (maybe a couple a month if that). One day it hit me that if I was spending $10 a week, I was spending over $500 a year, and I certainly wasn't winning $500 a year on them. So, I stopped buying them, and started putting that $10 a week in a special vacation bank account.

I used to give them to my co workers as a Christmas gift. One year my boss, the bank VP, hit for 500.00! He split it with me. :D

I rarely buy scratch tickets but when I do, I don't win except for a dollar or two. Just about 2 weeks ago, my brother hit big on a scratch ticket for $20,000.00! However, he buys a lot of scratch tix and plays the lottery quite often. After taxes (which they took out at the lottery office when he went to pick up the winnings) he cleared $13,400 or $13,600 which is still pretty good in my book! He hit on a $5.00 ticket.

I buy them every so often. Right after Christmas I won $50, that is the most I have ever won. Usually it is either a free ticket or a couple of bucks. DD won $50 a couple of weeks ago.

We will buy a few every few months. We usually play when we are traveling. We will stop to get gas and one of us will go inside to buy a soda and since we are already there we buy a few.

The most we have won is $20 (I think twice) but we usually get just a free ticket or $1.

777.00 on a way to a concert 6 years ago Dh and I only had 20.00 in our pocets. that was nice.

then like 7 years ago my husband won 1000.00 and then won another 1000.00 two more times that same year. . me step daughter one 500.00.

I had a bunch given to me Monday in a birthday card and won a total of $10 from three cards.

I do purchase them occasionally, but only the $2.00 ones. I rarely win but that OK because 2 years ago I purchased 2 tickets and won $4,000. I had to keep looking at the ticket, couldn't believe my eyes. DH was more surprised then I was. He's the one who buy's tickets and he never wins.

Sadly though all the winnings went to the IRS, It was a year when we had to pay mega tax returns.

We buy these occasionally. The most we've won is $150 about 10 years ago.

We have had better luck with Canadian scratch off lottery tickets. We don't win much but I don't think we've ever bought one without winning something.

Canadian scratch off games are really cool! My ex boyfriend is Canadian and I won the Oscar Night pool that contained atleast 20 different scratch off tickets and I had such a great time playing the different games. I won a bit and traded in for more tickets and eventually just ended up with 20 dollars. What I found to be really cool was you could just scratch the bottom bar to see if the ticket was a winner. In NY the bottom bar says void if scratched off, I think it's changed now though and you can scratch it off.

The most I've ever won was like $10.

I usually win a free ticket, or maybe a dollar. So it becomes a cycle, until I wind up with a dud, then I won't buy for awhile, until I think, "Well, maybe this time..." And it starts all over again!

We dont have lottery here in TN so when we travel, I always get tickets. I wish we did have the lotto.
When we travel its a treat to get tickets.

So, it sounds like no one is very lucky w/ these things. Glad I only spend a few bucks a month. I'll probably continue to do so. I like the "what if" thrill!
