I do the returns for all my family. i buy Turbo Tax and it lets me do 5 returns plus one state, but i have to pay to efile for the atate. If you have two returns to the same state, does it let you do two? I know Illinois has a web site that you can fill out and efile for free. Does anyone know if Minnesota or Massachusetts has such a site. it would save me some money.

Ive always done multiple colorado returns with the same turbo tax but i do have to pay to efile them.

I do my kids taxes, and I print out and mail the kids state ones in. Their refund is often small, or they even owe a little, so they do not want to pay to E-File. Plus their returns are on EZ, while mine is the longer 1040.

Check your state dept of revenue site. In IL, we are able to efile for free there.
