State Fairs and Other Festivals

Has your state resumed its fairs and other festivals this summer? @ronandannette has already said The Calgary Stampede is currently running.

Delaware’s Fair starts Thursday July 22 until July 31. They did hold the fair last summer but I heard it was only about half the size as normal and was poorly attended. No concerts.

Concerts return this year but none that interest me. I attend about every 2 or 3 years and am looking forward to going again. Last visit was 2018 or 19.

I think most things have returned but not all.

Other outdoor venues have a reduced timeframe, or the dates have been changed

Our State fair is early August!
The county where I grew up is having its fair currently....we may go tomorrow night as Chris Janson is the headliner.
The county where I currently live has its fair next week.
Some city festivals are back.
Summerfest, a huge music event, will happen in a modified format.
Church picnics are back as well!

We usually have a huge midway during the last week of July called The Ex. It was cancelled last year and this year they are planning on doing a scaled back version next month. We are slowly reopening, and of course, all the non vaxxed people are complaining that we're living in communism because they can't do the same things that double vaxxed people can do.

I saw the best reply to these complaints...we're not punishing the anti vax people, we're rewarding the double vaxxed. They are quickly learning there are consequences for your actions. Don't get vaccinated, but don't complain that you have to stay home or in outdoor spaces only.

I'm more excited for the Brimfield Antique Fair that's going on this weekend. I finally had a house to buy stuff for last year, but all the dates were canceled.

No, our State Fair (Ohio) is not on this year, aside from livestock competitions and other non-public events. I think our county fair is on, but we generally never go.

We have already had the county fair and in August will have the county farm show, which is basically the fair with animal displays and judging added.

NJ moved its State Fair FAR into NW New Jersey. I've only been once since it relocated there. It's really just a glorified church carnival now, with some animals included. It's in early August and as far as I know it's on for this year.

I've been to more than a dozen state fairs and exhibitions.

The state fair in MD will be held the end of August and it appears there will also be the Renaissance Faire from the end of Aug through mid to end of Oct barring a huge rise in COVID cases.

I don't do fairs but our county one is being held this week and everything, as I drove by, looks normal.

I am going to my first concert next month which I'm excited for. It's not Dierks Bentley, tho. He postponed ours for awhile.

My kids really like Big Snow and my son’s friend is a lifeguard at the waterpark.

Most of our events occur during the winter tourist months, so we missed those this year.

The only one I know of that is going forward is "Rolling Loud," a rap festival scheduled for next week -- and I only know about that because one of the scheduled performers got arrested by US Marshalls last night on weapons and aggravated assault charges.
