...did I read somewhere on this site,that I could receive discounts if I had this card and booked at either the Swan or the Dolphin?Is there an E-mail address?I've looked back in this thread but I can't seem to find it.I'd really appreciate any help.

Go to Starwood Preferred Guest you don't really get "discounts" as an SPG member but you are eligible for speclals only available to members and you can earn points good for reduced rate stays, free nights, upgrades, etc. for staying at ANY Starwood property (Westin, Sheraton, St Regis, Luxury Collection) so if you like to travel and stay at hotels it may be a good deal for you.
Since I joined last year I have stay at a St. Regis for free, the Swan for a great discount, and Sheratons for free too. They have an American Express card that earns points like an airline mileage card does - I have earned most of my points through that and special bonus point deals.
If you participate in a frequent flyer program you can also transfer your SPG points to an airline partner once you have 20,000 points you can transfer them and SPG gives you 5000 bonus points with that transaction.
