This may be a better post for the Orlando Hotels and Attractions board, but I think it may be of use to some people on this board as well. Sheraton currently has an offer for 35% off rack rate at any of their resort properties if you are a Starwood Preferred Guest member. They have several locations in the I-Drive / Universal area as well as the Swan/Dolphin at Disney that is participating. 35% doesn't sound like much but, when some of these properties are usually $200/ngt, paying $130/ngt instead is quite a savings. I checked availability as far ahead as October, and this seems like a good idea. I checked the Vistana Resort for the first October weekend 5-7th, and got a rate on a 2 room villa/ with kitchenette for $102!! Seemed pretty good to me.
Hope this helps someone. I always stay at the Sheraton Studio City on my Orlando "weekend getaways" and always love it. The staff's good and the room is clean. Might not be the best value in Orlando, but I'm always confident I'll be happy. Also with their Preferred Guest program, you can get upgrades (when available), as well as points for free stays and benefits, as well as airline miles. http://www.preferredguest.com Definatly worth checking out if Hard Rock and Portofino are booked up.
