Has anyone ever stayed here? I got a great rate for January 1st on Hotel Kingdom.

Has the name changed?

We've stayed at the Oak Plantation near the John Young Parkway used to be Hampton Inn Oak Plantation at one time.

We've stayed there the last 2 yrs. The 1st time we got a room on the lower level and was happy with it. There was one of those European combo washer & dryer units in the kitchen but thought it was small so used the free normal sized separate washer and dryer in the laundry area. Just need your own detergent.
There is free use of a tennis court, basketball court (ask at desk for equipment). There are 2 heated pools, 1 kids splash area, and 1 hot tub. Extra towels by pool area storage. It wasn't anything fancy but we enjoyed it every evening.
I think there was free use of the car vacuum and wash. We never used it though.

They will try and get you to go to a timeshare talk and give you some sort of incentive but just say no thanks if you're not interested. If they invite you to a free breakfast, that's what that is. We never went to one.

Last yr. we got a room on an upper level and it was so much bigger. It was still a 1 bedroom but there was a normal size washer and dryer in a separate room. The dining and living room area were larger too. I think it's called a 1 bedroom loft. We never made any specific room requests each yr. I guess just luck of the draw. We go at the same time in Nov. I would try to request one of these units though.

Also, when you head to the parks, we found it was faster, easier, more worthwhile to go north towards the toll rd and along that toll rd. rather than go along 192.

If this is the same Oak Plantation and you have any specific questions, I'd be happy to help you.

We have stayed there 2 times. Sep. '99 and Dec. '99 both times in one of the larger 1 bedroom units. The pool area is very nice. The units are in fairly good condition. Obviously, not new like say VV but the 2 units that we were in were at least B to B+ shape with a C being a decent room. The extra space and washer/dryer are great. It is a fairly quick commute to the WDW property. You are a mile above the Walmart Superstore on 192. It is gated, so there is a bit more security which is always a good thing. We considered staying there for an early December trip but went with Vistana Resort in a 1 bedroom through HK. We just have always wanted to stay at VR so we are giving it a try. We stayed at VV in a 2 bedroom last February and it, too, was extremely nice. I think that you will a very good stay at OP. If you have any specific questions, ask away.

We stayed there last March and were quite happy with it. We stayed in a larger one bedroom on the ground floor just off the kiddie pool. We had the full washer and dryer and made good use of it. The pool area is nice. The rooms were clean and comfortable.

We liked the short walk from the room to the car and pool area. We were even able to sit out by the pool and have a few drinks while the kids slept by using a baby monitor. We ordered take out a few times and bought prepared dinners at the grocery store down the road. The ride to Disney was about 15 to 20 minutes via 535 and seaworld was an easy ride too.

The staff was very nice. We declined the timeshare tour and were never bothered about it again. We got a great rate by calling the resort and asking for the entertainment rate, it was even a few dollars cheaper a night than hotel kingdom. We thought it was an awesome deal for the money and plan to stay there again on our next trip.
