I have decided to commit to the Whole30 program with a start date of September 8th (you can read more about it here http://whole30.com/ ) and I have to admit, I am a little worried about what I've gotten myself into :scared1:

On July 7th I had surgery to remove Endometriosis and my doctor recommended that I follow an anti-inflammatory diet to help manage my endometriosis symptoms as well as help control the disorder. The Whole30 program seems to be a good way to get started- from the website, "a short-term nutritional reset, designed to help you put an end to unhealthy cravings and habits, restore a healthy metabolism, heal your digestive tract, and balance your immune system."

Has anyone else done the Whole30? Anyone interested in joining me starting September 8th?

I did a Whole 30 back in February. I thought it was a really great way to transition to a healthier diet. We've not stayed as strict with it as I would have liked since then, but it definitely made some dramatic changes for us in the way we eat. We will probably do it again at some point, but not in time to start with you. It's not easy, but it can be done. Good luck and I hope it works for you. :thumbsup2

Well, if I read your post carefully I would have known that. :rotfl2:

Good luck! I start the Lurong Challenge on the 15th. I think they are similar.

I am on Day 9 of my 2nd whole30. I did one back in March and it was really great. I decided to do another whole30 now before we leave for our cruise because I had noticed that I just wasn't feeling as good as I did during and right after my whole30. I had started incorporating more paleo "treats" into my diet and i felt like I had gotten off track. So I decided that one more whole30 before I go to a place with 24/7 mickey bar availability would be a good idea. :rotfl:

The hardest part of the whole30 was making sure I read my labels. Nothing worse than opening an expensive can of unsweetened coconut milk to make paleo porridge and then glancing at the side and realizing that it has all kind of additives and junk in it. :furious:

Well, that and not getting on the scale. I'm a scale junkie. I want to see results in numbers. So for my first whole30, i totally cheated and I maybe stayed off the scale for 2 days. This time, I decided that if I was going to do it, I was going to follow all the rules, and that meant no scale. And honestly, I'm jones-ing harder for the scale than I am for a cookie. Heh

Oh, one thing that I have found helpful that is mentioned in the whole30 book, don't drink for the 15 minutes before, during, or 15 minutes after your meal. It dilutes your stomach acid which hinders digestion. This one is tough for me, but I think it helps.

Good luck!

OP - hope all is well and you'Re feeling great. I'M on day 50 of my 2nd Whole30. Gonna stick with it 75 days which will stop a week before my trip. Feeling great so far but the tiger blood stage took awhile to appear this round. My lab results are "excellent" and happy to say 19.5 lbs GONE! I do love this program and hope I can get back on after my trip!

Edited to say 50 instead of 5.

How did your Whole 30 go? I started mine a week ago - I'm on day 8. I didn't ditch the scale, though. So far, I'm feeling like it's been smooth sailing, but I have stopped at five different grocery stores and spent a small fortune on meat! :moped:

LittleMissMickey-

If you have a Costco, go there. They carry a LOT of organic meats and they are way cheaper. Mine even carries whole30 complaint hot dogs. I saved about $4 a pound on ground beef alone.
