Supposed to be coming on Friday - has taken me 2 years to persuade hubby! I was mega excited and so were my 2 girls but now with all the closures and transport problems I foresee it becoming a nightmare! Have done everything possible to plan in advance (with lots of forum help-thanks guys) mainly because hubby does not deal with stress at all well and I wanted this to be such a stress free magical trip :-(

I'm so sorry for you guys :(
I hope the weather will be lots better, so you get to go!

January will always be a very tricky month in these parts of Europe unfortunatly I'm afraid.

And breathe

Between now and next Friday all this extreme weather will be a distant memory

Yes it will be cold but that's normal in January and I'm guessing it's cold with you atm but it's not going to be below 0 in the daytime and you will might be getting a bit of sun.

Seriously I know it's not fun but the weather is out of our hands and I know that you are all going to have a great time :goodvibes

It can still be magical with all the ride closures. Make it a different sort of visit - instead of rushing from one attraction to another, you can really take in the beauty of the park covered in snow, and enjoy not having to battle crowds. Dress warmly and have lots of hot chocolate breaks. Enjoy what's there instead of focusing on what your missing out on. And if your DH is anything like me he'll stress less with low crowds anyway :thumbsup2

Transport I can't help you with and I have no idea how the weather will affect it. If it's a bit stressful getting there, it will all be worth it in the end when you're walking down Main Street pixiedust:

Great advice there Zanzibar138 :thumbsup2

Its just a matter of making the most of it. Will definately be seeing as many indoor shows as possible too.

Thanks guys. We always knew weather would be super chilly and were prepared for that and tbh its more the show closures that are upsetting me :-( we booked jan for the low crowds - thinking less stress for hubby but also because it was the month we could afford lol trying to stay positive but wondering whether the fact that I have wanted it for so long and really worked hard to persuade hubby will work against me and leave us all disappointed! I really really hope not!

I agree with Carrie Cat. Don't panic

In Kent we are deep in snow but there isn't any more forecast and I am expecting it to start clearing tomorrow.
We have often been in January/February and it often snows but I have never seen anywhere cleared up as quickly as at DLP.
It will be magical whatever the weather. pixiedust:

I was hoping it would clear up but on the weather forecast I just checked it says it's going to continue to snow even whilst we are at dlp :-( I know I should just relax and be pleased we are going but after a horrible year I had high hopes for this trip ......

Stop checking the weather forecasts ::yes:: You will feel much better. Even if it does snow on the Sunday and that's a big if looking at the % risk it won't be like the snow we have now

The weather forecast can't be know that far in advance, beyond 48hrs they are guessing and estimating, that why they call it provisional ;)

Haha carrie I think you are such a helpful person! Giving me lots of tips and a good kick up the backside :-) will keep an eye on your weather updates and attempt to chill (bad pun!) until Thursday...... Should really be prepping for a Job interview on thurs (scared!!) but keep getting distracted by trying to plan the trip lol

Stay positive! You will experience the Disney magic!!

In 2004, we went to WDW when DD was 7, and had a wonderful week (4 nights WDW and 3 nights DCL) between Hurricanes Charley and Frances. I thought the trip would be cancelled too, but got to see the aftermath of Hurricane Charley e.g houses with ripped roofs.

Sending lots of pixie dust your way!! Things may change over the next few days.

just wanted to say.. don't feel fed up about the ride closures. I know it's horrible when you sit here and think what you will not get to do due to weather and closures. We felt the same when we booked a few years ago to go christmas day and the the snow came lol.

We still managed to drive there despite the snow, stayed at the Davy Crockett Ranch and some evenings the car temp said -9  The fountain had frozen solid lol.

I can honestly say that it was an amazing trip, lots of stuff had to be closed due to the weather but we actually managed to see so much that we had missed out on (despite going 7 times previously!)
Our previous trips consisted of rides and standing waiting to go on them. We discovered so much more on that trip.

There are lots of places to warm up and you will get some amazing photos :)
