Always stay at kidani. Have BLT booked for this October but getting nervous about the switch. Will i enjoy it as much? Doing it for the monorail and convenience with two young kids. Should i switch to kidani?????

BLT is different but I would try it, especially with young children. I can to say it it one of my top choices, but I am glad I tried it. If you are down for more than a week why not do a split stay

BLT is a bit glitzier than Kidani, but with two small children, the close proximity to MK and the ability to hop on the monorail will serve you well. Relax and enjoy the trip. ;)

I have never stayed at Kidani, but I take my kids to WDW without hubby... and the monorail and closeness to MK is wonderful. BEing able to take the monorail to two of the four parks is such a bonus. BLt has a great pool also.

BLT is my home resort, but Kidani is my favorite. We are staying at both this summer. I would stick with BLT if I was you. It's really awesome being in such close proximity to the parks. Plus the view is wonderful. Give it a try; it's a different experience than Kidani, but still a lot of fun.

We really love BLT and the ease of getting to and from MK. We don't have little ones anymore, but when we did, we always stayed at the CR for the same reason we bought BLT...location.

I do agree, having stayed at Jambo last year, the resorts definitely have a different feel, but trying it will at least give you info for the future.

When I start to over think where we're staying, DH always reminds me that we'll be back. We'll probably try every DVC resort...multiple times. That's the beauty of ownership. :) Stick with BLT, Kidani will be waiting for you next time. Enjoy!

your hubby is right on point....try every resort if you like.

BLT and Kidani are different, but both fantastic.

BLT highrise...beautiful lake setting your are a boat ride or monorail from 3 other deluxe resorts....

you can walk back from MK when the park closes and completely avoid the crowds....

EMP and outdoor movies at night.....watch Wishes from TOWL, but you may have a view from your room.

Like AKL....two pools complexes to enjoy.

Lake access...for renting Mickey boats etc.

Enjoy your trip....we will be back to BLT this June for another great vacation.:cool1:

Our favorite place to stay (and our home) is Kidani, but you can't beat the convenience of walking to MK from BLT. It is obviously a very different feel. We have enjoyed our BLT stays. My DS6 really likes the pool slide, although I think we collectively like the Kidani pool area better. He also likes watching the monorails going by. The rooms are nice and light and the lake view is really pretty. We were on the inside of the 'C' on our last trip, and enjoyed overlooking the pool area. If you see yourself spending a fair amount of time at MK, BLT is definitely a great place to stay.

If you are doing a long stay, you could consider splitting your time between the two resorts. We have done a few split stays, and it is not too difficult to switch resorts. Although it can be more challenging with really young kids. I don't like doing split stays for visits of less than 8 days. There is a fair amount of down time on the switch day.

We always resort hop and stay at a different resort from trip to trip so that each trip is new and exciting. We figure if we're going so often it would be easy to get bored staying at the same resort over & over...that's the beauty of owning a timeshare IMO. We have now tried all of the WDW DVC resorts. Anyway, personally, we didn't care for Kidani as much as Jambo House and we did enjoy our stay at BLT (I would say more than we did at Kidani). We stayed there over spring break LAST year and we chose it for that trip because we knew it would be busy and the convenience of the monorail was indeed a fantastic choice. We would stay there again for sure if we had extra points to use (it is a little pricier points-wise than AKV or SSR). The biggest disappointment for us at BLT was the pool area. WAAAAY too small for the size of the resort...and with so many little kids. We ended up going over to the pool at the Contemporary and that was much better. A lot more space and less crowded. We felt right at home at BLT and now that they have their own check-in desk probably would be even more so. :thumbsup2 I think trying a new resort is great fun and not to be missed out on!!

I definitely agree with trying out a new resort! Ever since we joined DVC it has been my mission to stay at all of the DVC resorts. My dad and I will be staying at Bay Lake Tower for spring break (only 43 more days to go!!!!!), which is the last WDW DVC resort I need to stay at. Really, you can't go wrong with any of them. I have honestly loved each and every DVC resort for different reasons. So stick with BLT! And if you don't like it, then atleast you'll know. :)

We split our stay last December between BLT and Jambo House. Both were great. BLT convenience can't be beat. AKL great for the theme and a good place to relax after the theme park bustle.

If you stay at BLT, walk to the MK. Otherwise, you board the resort monorail at the Contemporary. It stops at TTC. It stops at the Polynesian. It stops at the GF. Then it stops at the MK. You can walk to the MK in the time it takes you to ride the monorail. You may want to ride the monorail back to the CR though. You are the first stop.

Take the monorail from CR to Epcot. Take the resort monorail to TTC. Then get the Epcot monorail at the TTC. We found it fairly convenient for the F&W Festival.

Another thing about BLT. Every afternoon they have pool parties that are loud. If you are inside the C of the building, you will hear the pool party all afternoon. If you are trying to take a nap or put a little one down for a nap, it might be difficult. I found it difficult to sit out on the balcony during the afternoon because of the noise from the pool. Also the Electric Water Parade is also noisy each night. And you will hear the MK fireworks reverberating inside the C. You won't see them, but you will hear them.

We bought into DVC with the plan to try a variety of resorts at WDW.
We stayed at Kidani and then BLT.
LOVE BLT!!!
Nice and clean (clearly different decor than AKL)
Being able to walk to MK in less than 10 minutes and having the monorail has us rethinking future stays! I think you'll enjoy it plenty.
Plus, no need to rush after fireworks\parade b\c you're right outside of the park! And we had no issues with buses to DHS or AK.
And the Top of the World on the roof was pretty cool for the fireworks.

I always do this...no matter which resort we have, I always wonder hmmmmmm wonder if we should stay at this one instead. Problem is they all have something that draws me to the resort that I really like......need more vacation time!

I have my first stay at BLT in 2 weeks. Never stayed there so I thought I would try it for something different. BWV always has my heart but I like trying the others. After this, SSR is the only DVC at WDW that I haven't stayed at but I did visit 2 or 3 years ago.

We own at BWV and really love Jambo House. We stayed at BLT in December, and neither my husband nor I were convinced we'd like it. We ended up loving it and are eager to go back. I'd definitely give it a shot.

We are doing a SHORT split stay between AKL and BLT this Fall. We are doing AKL for the day we will do AK and just resort stay....then on to BLT for the MK and Epcot which is where we will spend most of our time.

BLT is PRICELESS for the location. I can't do the 25 minutes on a bus to MK. Not when my kids think that the monorail is a ride in and of itself. And post-fireworks walk.....need I go on! It's great - you'll love it! Different but great!

If you havent done BLT, then i would say give it a try. Staying on the monorail is priceless with young children. Make sure to pool hop to the poly's volcano pool. Its awesome!
