My kids would like to start pin trading, probably more collecting, on our next trip.

What's the best place to order some starter pins and lanyards. I'd like to have them before we go.

You could try e-bay. There are usually large lots for sale for around a dollar a piece. Or you can buy starter sets at WDW. I got started by buying the small character pins (7 in a box for I believe $21.00) not bad when you trade them for pins that may be $6.00 or $7.00.

Also.........try to get the kids started on a specific character, my one DD collects Tinkerbell and the other DD collects Jasmine. I go for Mickey and wife does Minney. We have a lot of fun searching and talking with the CMs.

Hi there-

Look down in Disney Collecting forum on this site. There are some handy threads about how pin collecting works, web site recommendations to verify the pins you might be bidding on are acceptable to trade, & what is a good price to pay in general, etc.

Best of luck!

Ahhh pin trading. Be careful or you may end up opening your wallet and let the money flow. It is very addictive. I started in 2002 with DD. Thought it would be a good way have a little fun on her first trip. Well, I got addicted and now have over 300 pins. Just bought a bunch off Ebay to trade in Dec. Ebay is probably one the best places now and you can get them for about $2 each. If they cost less than that, they may be fake or the not accepted at Disney.
