Starting low carb, a few questions?

My Dh and I just started watching our carbs on Monday. I am not following any specific diet, just basically switching us to high protein and low carb eating, getting recipes from different low carb websites. I have found in the past that being really strict with my diet, as in following a specific diet, doesn't work for me. basically I think it is mostly a mind game. If I feel like I am depriving myself, I am more likely not to keep with the program.
Anyhow, we are taking multivitamins, a calcium supplement, B6 supplement and drinking green tea (supposed to help suppress appetite).
The first two days, I felt great. I had more energy than I have had in a very long time.
Now, the last three days, I have been feeling sluggish. I keep getting dizzy and a little nauseous.
Is this normal?
My DH isn't having these effects.
I have lost eight pounds and feel good about that.

Can I join in the WISH? And how do I get a little WISH clippie?

And finally, what kind of veggies are really good for this? I don't want to get tired of eating the same old thing.

Hazleton? We are practically neighbors (I'm in Mechanicsburg). :D

What you are feeling is normal - your body is actually going through withdrawl of sorts - carb withdrawl. It will pass. I had it for one day, my wife for two.

If you are concerned about feeling limited on a diet, check out South Beach. You will still have carbs in your diet - the good ones, along with the proper fats and protein.

Best of luck and hope you feel better soon (lots of water helped me).

Oh, yeah - for the clippie: navigate up thread from this one and you will find a thread listing "All the WISH Clipart in One Place". Find the clip you are looking for and copy the HTML code under it to you signature - that's it.

Thanks for the reassurance.
My BIL is doing south beach, I may give him a call.

By the way, we were stationed in New Cumberland at the Depot for six years. We love the Harrisburg metro area and hope to get transferred back someday. Three of my closest friends are in the area.
Mechanicsburg is a lovely little burg. :wave2:
