Starting February 4th Park Hopping will begin at 11am

I just read that parking is going to be free for resort guests at Disney World. What does everyone think that the chances are of that happening at Disneyland??

No chance. It was ridiculous to charge for it at WDW where they have the "blessing of size". That has never been the case at DLR.

Great news! I was hoping they'd get rid of it, but 11:00 is still much better than 1:00. It will be easier to make lunch and brunch plans.

More of a, "Spend the morning in Park A, then hop to park B," feel, and not, "Rope drop at park A and try to find something to do before you're allowed into park B."

For Disneyland I have no problem being there from open-close, but if I start at DCA I will for sure want the option of hopping over to Disneyland as early as possible. Plus it's nice to have the restaurant options at both parks for lunch.

I agree for days in DCA it is nice to be able to hop earlier and for days in Disneyland it is nice to be able to eat lunch at DCA because I generally like the food options there. With the 1 PM hopping time I felt like I was eating a snack at Disneyland just so I could make it to 1 PM to eat at DCA especially when the food booths are out and there are so many new things to eat.

I'm happy to hear that they're making this concession, as the 1:00 park-hopping time is wildly unpopular.

I do wish it started immediately, though I think I get why they're waiting (new ride debut late Jan). I have an upcoming trip Jan 23-25 and would have loved an 11:00 park hopping time, but at least they're throwing us a bone.

This is great news for my family, as we typically don’t arrive until 9/10am (drive up from San Diego). It takes the pressure off of which park to start at for us, and will change our G+ strategy for the better.

Future Iger will they merge the two parks and jump the price to the hopper level as a result.

Move the turnstiles to the ticket booths and make a nice attraction land with the esplanade.

That's pretty exciting for everyone, I was never bothered by the 1pm park hopping thing but it'll be a nice change for others.

Good to know. Although I still don't understand the logic of having restricted park hopping. It makes scheduling so much more complicated.

My guess is that if there was no restriction someone might book DCA when DL was full. They’re preventing just going to whichever park you want to.

Which never used to be a problem. My hunch is they are just using it at this point to sell more tickets to DCA.

Free parking is back at all WDW hotels as if early/mid January.

Parking at the parks is free for guests staying at on site hotels and APs. They charge for anyone else. That never changed.

If we select one park to start but don't arrive until after 11am, Do we have to enter our starting park or are we allowed to enter either park?

Once park hopping starts, you can go into either park first. You don’t have to first enter the one you have a reservation at. This is only applicable to Disneyland.
