Starting college... need some advice on classes

congratulations on going back to school! I am considering going back, also for Rad Tech! I started the Rad Tech program in 1994 at Northeastern, did 6 quarters(only 2 classes at a time as I was also working full time and single mom), then dropped it :headache:.

Got married, had a couple more kids and enjoyed being home with them. Started working PT retail a few years ago and am really, really tired of it. I need to go back and finish the program but I'm scared to!

Can't do the full time program right now as I need to continue to work in order to pay for DD20's college tuition, but I am hoping to maybe take one class at a time starting this summer or fall, then maybe next fall start full time. I need to meet with an advisor to see what can be transferred over.

I thought A&P was hard, I need to take A&P 2 over again:headache:

Good luck!

I feel like a slacker now. My 2 classes are Macroeconomics and Management of Information Systems. lol

I am dreading my math classes! I took a look at DD's 9th grade algebra homework last night....:scared1: I think I'm going to have to pay HER to tutor me. :lmao:

Do you work outside the home? I only work part-time, so this works for me.

Yeah, I failed the math portion of the placement test (well, the algebra portion, anyway). I'll need my DDs to tutor me so that I can pass it, otherwise I have to take a remedial math class! :scared1: A hundred years ago I was pretty good at math, and I loved algebra! A lot of water under that bridge since then.

Life does that, doesn't it? DD17 starts college in the fall. Me being in college actually helps with the financial aid we can get. I'm very excited to see a different possibility to the job I've been in since I turned 18 (!). I work for a major airline, and while the benefits really are top notch, the pay is so-so, and the job itself is BORING. I look forward to having to think again.

It sounds like a good first semester. I agree with the others--you'll have an easier time with A&P once you've had med term, and are back in the class groove. A&P is interesting, but there is a LOT of memorization! Since grades are so important, you'll likely feel better about tackling it, once you've taken some other courses and have more confidence.

Yep, I work full-time. I tried this a few years ago working 32 hours a week, school full-time and raising DD5 (at the time) alone. I could only manage one year before I burntout. This time will be easier. :thumbsup2

OP - I have a question just out of curiosity.

I too am taking classes this spring in preparation for a Physical Therapy Assistant program in the fall. I'm only taking 7 hours this semester because I have lots of transfer credits (already have a BS in Accounting).

I'm taking A&P with a lab, Human Growth & Development, and Med Term, but my Med Term class is only one credit hour. How many is yours?

My Med Term is two hours. English is 3, Psyc is 3, and BCIS is 4.
