Starting 2007 Off Right - Final Day is Up!!! Pg 16!

Great update. We did a lot of things this year at MGM that we had never done before, including the stunt show... I don't think we would go back to it unless they change it. It was cool, but I agree the inbetween set up stuff takes tooo long! I had to go on TOT by myself this year (did the baby swap) I was soo scared! I sat next to an older couple, I held onto the side handle for dear life and screamed! We are going to be going back just DH and I in Jan.... Can't wait to ride the rides with him again! :goodvibes jen

I am very excited to know you are back and plan on finishing your TR :flower3:

LOL - I'm not sure I could go on that one by myself!!! :lmao: I need someone to hold onto for dear life!! :rotfl2: Sounds like a great trip is in the works for the two of you! :)

Great update! and so glad to hear you have another trip to Disney to look forward to and plan for!
Enjoying the report- can't wait to read more!
:)

Thanks for reading! :goodvibes

Love your trip report and your planning style. My DW and I had been to DW twice together before we had kids and your reports really bring us back to those days. Alot of freedom to do what you want and at a pace that suits you. Take advantage of those days while you can and keep reporting!!!!

Thanks! :) We're hoping to have a little one to share our fun with someday! ;)

Ready for more. ;)

Thanks for following along! :thumbsup2

I am glad you are back... sorry about the house not being sold, but :cool1: :cool1: for planning another trip. We did make ADRS for Crystal Palace too!

I think your girls will love CP!! :goodvibes

Thanks for reading!! :cool1:

I love out by Lake Catholic off Belflower (Independence Place) but my boyfriend and I are moving to an apartment in Willoughby off Lost Nation (Tamarac) in August! We are going 9/9-9/17... we were going to go that first week but there was a wedding that refuuuused to change it's date to suit our vacation ;). So glad you get to go back and can't wait to read the rest of this report!

Too funny!!! :rotfl: Hubby & I lived at Tamarac for our first year of marriage!! LOL It's a small world! ;)

I'm having fun reading your TR knowing that I was there the same time as you and froze my butt off too. We actually had 1 day warm enough for the water park but that was in the beginning of the trip. I also went to the P&P party on the 22nd. Then I read you were going back for free dining. I'm going back for that too with adults only this time though. We will be staying at Pop for the first time. How funny. Keep em coming:thumbsup2

We just love POP, I know it's not for some people, but for us it's perfect for what we need. I'm glad you guys got to enjoy the waterparks at least one day - we went as far as to get our suits on one day, but never got in the pool. It just got too chilly!! :)

 Yay, you're back!

We booked our trip for Oct. and got ADRs at Crystal Palace. :thumbsup2 DD is a big Eeyore fan, so it will be fun to watch her with him. We can't wait.

Sorry about the house. That really stinks. I'm sure you will sell it soon. It is so exciting that you are building a house. You get to choose everything. If you sell before your house is ready are you moving into an apt? We want to put our house up soon, but we are worried about selling/buying at the right time. At least you'll have a trip to the World to take your mind off of things. :yay:

I'll be on the watch for that drink in Morocco. A sweet drink always hits the spot of me. I love Mango Marg. too. I can't believe they put salt instead of sugar. It is soooo good with sugar.

Keep it coming! Still eagerly waiting to hear if you got those Disney crocs...I went and re-read your TR. ;)

I love you TR. I love all the pictures. I started reading this morning but had to stop b/c i didn't want to be late for work. I'm pretty sure my boss would not have accepted the excuse "well you see...I was on Disboards and just lost track of time" One she don't know what that is. Two she doesn't like me very much anyway.:lmao: Can't wait to read more.

Great TR! I really do love the pictures, seems like you guys had a great time! :goodvibes i look forward to more!

Thanks! Keep reading - you'll hear more & more about those Crocs! LOL :lmao: I'll have to ask hubby what the name of that drink in Morocco is - I used to just get a frozen Tangerine Daiquiri at the outside stand in Morocco & one day when the outside machine was broken, they sent me to the inside restaurant instead & I actually got this drink by mistake the first time....but, it was SOOOO good that I go back for it now! :thumbsup2

Yes definitely funny! I hope you guys liked it! Can't wait to read the rest of your report!

We didn't really have any problems over there - we were just very anxious to get a house of our very own & we both REALLY missed having dogs the 10 months we lived there. It was a hard transition when you're used to have furry mutts in your life every day. ;) I recently heard that they allow pets now, though!! Good luck with the move! :goodvibes

LOL - yeah, she probably wouldn't "get" it! :rotfl2: Glad you're enjoying it!! I'm actually thinking about starting a pre-trip for our August trip, too.... :woohoo:

DAY 4 ~Saturday, January 20th:

Since there was no Morning EMH scheduled for Saturday morning, we were pretty open to visit any park we wanted to. We were “smart” ;) this morning & we both actually left the Resort wearing long pants & long sleeve shirts. :thumbsup2 The sun was trying to make an appearance, but it was really still pretty chilly out there. Since we had yet to experience the Yeti this trip, we skipped breakfast & got to AK before the rope drop. Our plan of action, was of course, to make that mad dash over to Asia to get on the Yeti ride (aka Expedition Everest for anyone that thinks I’m crazy talking about a Yeti – LOL) Let’s just say our morning didn’t start out as we anticipated….

We booked it over to Asia & we keep seeing large groups of people walking the other way…that’s odd, we both think to ourselves, :confused3 but we keep walking. Yep, you may have guessed it already…the Yeti ride was down for the morning. Ugh!!!! :headache: Now, I understand that things like this happen, but my biggest complaint is that they could very easily post a sign at the Park entrance or even at the large Park times sign after you cross over the main bridge noting that Expedition Everest is currently down – they have to know that is where everyone is rushing off to!! :rotfl:

Enough ranting about that….LOL

The next best thing for us is Kilimanjaro Safaris, so we started heading that way. I just love going on the Safari first thing in the morning – I really think that the animals are the most active early in the morning & later in the day when the sun isn’t as hot. We’ve also witnessed many of the animals being fed at this time of day which is a fun thing to see! Now, being that the single most popular AK attraction is down for the morning & the park is swamped at opening, you may have guessed it, but the Safari ride was mobbed!!! People were lined up out the front of the entrance!!!! I have NEVER seen a line that long at the Safari – we always go in the off season, so we both agreed that this was insane & just grabbed a FP for a little later.

At this point we ended up strolling thru some of the park to enjoy all of the animals around for viewing. I really love this part of the park – I’ve always loved animals & usually go to our local zoo a few times a year & also love to visit zoos in other cities we visit. Last summer was a good example – my hubby was out in Fort Leonard Wood, MO for 4 ½ months to complete an Officer’s training course for the National Guard & I basically went out to visit him every other weekend during that time! :thumbsup2 We went to the Springfield Zoo (which is an awesome zoo where you can feed the giraffes graham crackers!!!:goodvibes ), the St. Louis Zoo & Grant’s Farm in St. Louis. I just really love that Disney has added a fun, new park that has some great thrill rides, but also incorporates the wonderful world of furry critters for us all to enjoy!

We first walked thru the Pangani Forest Trail since we were right next to it after getting our FP’s for the Safari. We then took in the Maharajah Jungle Trek (we just love saying that one! LOL) over in Asia & saw some gorgeous tigers sunbathing:

After our strolling around on the trails we finally got a ride in on Expedition Everest!!! :yay: I’m not sure what it is exactly….but, we just LOVE this ride!!! It’s just so much fun & we both laugh every time we see the Yeti! :rotfl2: LOL I just love the many different aspects of this ride – the up & down, back & forth – fun, fun, fun!! We were also able to get a FP for another date with our Yeti for a little later. After that we headed over to ride Dinosaur.

At this point, we decided that we were both STARVING!! So, it was off to Flame Tree BBQ – definitely in my top 3 of favorite counter service food at Disney. :thumbsup2 Just love me some BBQ pork samiches!! We both got BBQ Pork Sandwiches which came with little mini corn on the cobs and baked beans – we split a basket of seasoned fries & a large Diet Coke. Everything was very good, especially on our hungry bellies!! I love eating here & enjoying the view on the water, which now includes a great view of Expedition Everest, too. Just a tip - there is a lot of great, quiet seating the further you walk away from Flame Tree. ;)

After we stuffed our faces, we realized it was just about time to utilize our Safari FP! So, off to the Safari we headed – we were excited to see the new baby giraffe & a couple of baby elephants on Safari!

After the Safari we ran over for our FP date with the Yeti & a side note about the Yeti ride – he really does a number on my hair!!! :scared1: Be careful if you wear any type of doodad in your hair on this ride, because I almost lost my hairband there! LOL You just go in so many different directions on this ride my hair ends up all over the place when we’re done! I believe we took some time strolling thru the shops some before heading back to POP for the afternoon. I was still on the lookout for those Pink Mickey Crocs!! I got excited when I spotted some Crocs in the big store at AK, but again, only black or red. I actually thought hard about getting the red ones, but knew that I really had my heart set on the pink ones! :rolleyes1

Great pictures!:thumbsup2 We love animals too. We plan to take DD to the Toledo, OH zoo this summer we have heard great things about it.

Still no crocs?! I guess you have to keep us in suspense...:rotfl:

I love your Pre Trip- turned Trip Report- turned Pre trip again! lol! I am so happy that you and your husband are able to go and relax together at WDW when life gets crazy! You give me hope! My DBF and I are returning in July for our 2nd WDW trip together. Hoping to post another update today or tomorrow! :)

Nice report. Just a question. Where is that first pic taken? I have seen it several times but never knew where it is:confused3

Currently preparing for our 9th trip to Walt Disney World together~
IMG_0692-1.jpg

Since I love living vicariously through everyone’s trip reports here on the DIS, I thought I would attempt one of my very own! We are VERY excited for this trip (pretty much like we are for EVERY Disney trip – :lmao:) but this one is special to us for several reasons. Unfortunately, I experienced a miscarriage just 3 days before Christmas, so it’s been a rough couple of weeks. :sad1: Hubby & I are really looking forward to getting away from the real world for awhile & spending some quality time together. :goodvibes (What better place to do that than at WDW!!) We are hoping that this will be our last “adults only” trip, which also means that it may be our last trip for at least a year or two, or three...:scared1:

A short introduction for anyone following along…it’s just me & hubby on this trip – celebrating our 9th trip to Walt Disney World together.

~Me! :stitch2: Emily, 28, works hard all year in anticipation of our annual Disney trip. Part of the fun for every trip for me is getting to do all the planning (when I spend a lot of time here on the DIS!!) I love to make up spreadsheets to determine where we’ll stay, for how long, where we’ll eat & what days we’ll go to which parks.
IMG_0906.jpg

~Hubby, :goofy: Craig, 29, also lives to go to WDW with me – has been going to Disney for years. Doesn’t usually participate in much of the planning, but looks forward to our trips just the same.
IMG_0877.jpg

We have now been together for 10 ½ years – we started dating at the end of my senior year of high school (hubby even took me to my Senior Prom 3 weeks after we started dating.) We love spending time together & spending it at WDW is always a lot of fun for us – we’ve never had a bad time there. :thumbsup2 We are often teased by friends and family for returning to WDW so often – we’re told often about all the other places in the country we should go to instead…but, we’re happy returning to WDW, so that’s where we’re headed! :rotfl:

We have gone to WDW together 8 times since our first magical trip in January, 2000. We were married just 5 months later! We even returned to WDW to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary in May 2005. It was one of our most magical trips highlighted with an anniversary dinner at California Grill & a carriage ride at Fort Wilderness.

This trip is actually “somewhat” of a “budget” trip. We have our Annual Passes from our trip in September/October 2006, got some great AP rates on our rooms, are using the complimentary Magical Express Service from the airport, utilizing our DDE Card for discounts on meals (& tasty beverages around the “world”) and we are also using a free roundtrip airfare I earned over the summer! :woohoo:

Hi Battlecat! That first picture is around the backside of the Contemporary Resort - they have a nice little set-up where you can take a family picture. Very cute! :thumbsup2
