Okay, now that I've started packing, the upcoming trip (one week from today) seems really real! I've got the two backpacks for the airplane packed full of things to keep the kids occupied, snacks and toiletries and other odds and ends are packed up too! Now I just have to wait until dh starts his vacation on Saturday to have him iron all of the clothes (I know, it's weird but he is a compulsive iron freak) so that I can start packing them.

Quick question-do you take two sets of clothes for the kids for each day (one for daytime and one for nighttime when it's cooler)? I am planning on trying to pack light to avoid huge charges for checked baggage at the airport.

Hi,

Once again we are on the same schedule. The packing has begun at my house too. For the DL portion of our trip, I am planning two outfits everyday. We'll have another ten days after DL and those get one outfit each. The main reason I plan two outfits for Disney (all of our previous trips have been to WDW) is because we take an afternoon break and most days I have my DD bathe during that break and I have her get into a fresh outfit. At WDW there is the "hot and yucky" factor which may not be as much as a factor at DL, I hope!

I am not taking long sleeves or anything for the evening but I did buy us all very lightweight summer jackets (something we don't need much in Little Rock!)

Have fun packing!

We usually just pack a sweatshirt or light jacket for the G-Kids.

I might try to pack two outfits per day for the kids if there's room in the suitcase. I am going to try the trick of putting a day's outfit in a ziploc bag all together. I had been contemplating what to do about our pretty well potty trained two year old. I think now I'm going to use pull ups so that we don't have to travel home with a bunch of smelly, soiled outfits. She tends to not do so well with pottying when she's preoccupied, and I think she'll be pretty preoccupied at DL.

I washed our hoodies for the evenings yesterday when doing laundry. We used them last time we were there when watching the ELP.

Just bring a couple light hoodies and/or those pants that turn into shorts. We live about 10 min away from DLR. It's been very nice during the day (highs upper 70's-80), but downright COLD at night and early mornings. We experience something here called "June Gloom", where it is cloudy and cold and foggy EVERY single morning. It burns off around 10am or so. Prior to that, it's very cold.

Also, I need to advise you that the weather forecasters for this area are NOTORIOUSLY wrong. Whatever weather.com, accuweather.com, etc. are saying the high temperature will be, subtract 5 degrees and that will be the ACTUAL temp. It's been a very cool summer so far.
