Start a thread for Dream Aug 1, 2012?

Just found this thread! This will be my first cruise in almost 14 years and my boys' first one ever! They are SO excited - especially my middle son who is turning 9 the day the ship sails! Our boys are 10, almost 9 and 4. I PM'd the person organizing the FE swap. Now to fashion some kind of extender and shop for gifts! (In the midst of packing, closing on houses and getting my kids ready for a new school - we start on Aug. 13th!) At least the FE shopping will be a fun chore!!!! I love the FE idea - it really will help cut down on my kids wanting so many expensive, silly souveniers since they will be getting little surprises along the way!

DW was asking my thoughts on scheduling a meet somewhere during the cruise.

My first thought was that the first day would be cool because then we can say hello if we see each other throughout the cruise. But that first day might be tough. Don't know what everyone's plans are for the nassau or CC days. So perhaps the Day at Sea would work best.

and this would not just be for FE, but for any DISers and friends, even the lurkers out there...

So excited! We're on the ship in 6 days now! Will your daughter be doing the Oceaneer club/lab? If so, we may run into you as our niece will be there as well.

Just got home yesterday! Cruise was fantastic!! It was just too short!! DW and I think we'll be doing another one in 2014!! Hope everyone had a great time and made it home safely!!

oh how fun! We got home last Tuesday but aren't completely unpacked yet! LOL. I think we are on the 2014 time frame as well, all the ones I like for 2013 are out of our price range so thinking if we get in early enough on a summer 2014 maybe that will work. I agree about the length, a 3 night would be even more difficult although a 5 nighter might be ok. I'm bummed we missed the meet. I swear we were one of the last ones on the ship (normal for us) and last ones off (also normal). Sad thing is we really could have been there at least an hour earlier had we realized how long the drive would take. Not so far in miles but the A1A is a slow moving road!
