Hi, can anyone remember about how long the stars and cars parade lasts?

thanks Jo

the actual show on the stage is about 15 minutes - but then there is a meet n greet afterwards for another 10 minutes or so, and theres the car parade as it enters and then exits the stage area. We are usually there for about 40 minutes (10 or 15 minutes before the parade starts to get our spots ropeside, then we stay until the stars are back on their cars and exiting the stage area at the end of the show).

We love this parade, but don't watch the stage show (we're round the side/back of the stage getting character interaction and autographs :thumbsup2).

Could you explain to me exactly where this is (I know I should know but I can't picture it!):goodvibes

Its on the stage outside Playhouse Disney. There is a show going on the front of the stage, and all the characters take it in turns doing a 'bit' on the stage, but whilst that is going on the rest of the characters do lots of autographs and photos round the back of the stage. You can get the autograph books filled up very quickly!

Little tip - there is a rope that is tied to the lampposts. Don't stand next to a lamp post, as people push forward, meaning the middle of the ropes are closer in than the bits where the ropes are tied to the lamp posts, and characters can't see you trying to catch their attention!

Sorry for being a bit dim but I can't quite picture where the area around the back of the stage is. I have looked at the map and am guessing I would need to somewhere near cinemagique? What characters can you often see there?

(thanks for the tip too)

yes, the area outside Cinemagique, also the entrance to Stitch live - between those 2 buildings you are to the side/back of the stage.
All the characters from Stars n Cars start off there once the cars are parked (except for Daisy and Donald and Goofy as they are mostly in front of the stage, directing). So in effect, you could (and probably will) meet a handful of the stars. Go on youtube to see the parade for every character who is in it (there are loads ;)). This latest trip, we met Jessie, Ariel, Mushu, Gaston, Wicked Queen, Cruella de Ville, Woody, Emile, and Mulan.

would it be a good idea to do the show twice, once at the front of the stage to see the show, and once at the side/back for pics etc?

we try and see this parade every day we're at DLP - and almost always from the side/back of the stage. But if you want to see the actual show, you need to be there early, as the front stage area is really quite small, I'd say at least half an hour before the parade is due to start, maybe even earlier.

Hi, thanks for the advice. Watching the video really helped me get my bearings about where the stage is etc. I thought the actual show was quite cute but there is definately advantages to standing back stage. I will have to consult our friends on which we should do. Both sounds like a good idea but I'm struggling to fit it in once at the moment:rotfl: We have lots of little legs with us so we are trying not to park hop too much

We got autographs from Cruella (took some convincing for her, she doesn't sign autographs readily, keeping in character - she responds well to flattery about her dress!), Woody, Jessie, Aladdin, Mary Poppins, Bert, Lilo, Snow White, Jasmine (plus good photos of Stitch and Sulley who can't sign books because of their outfits - but they did start having a fight, before making friends and hugging each other!).

I got an autograph from Stitch no problem. Mushu however took my drawing and my friend's book, pretend to kiss it and gave both back.

The next day I readily saw him signing, unfortunately not in my area. :confused3

Another good way to get Cruella's attention is to go into "paparazzi mode" - act like you're a professional photographer who wants to get pictures of her. Especially helps if you got a larger camera. I got a whole series of extremely cool photos from her because she played along and posed for me, and then an autograph on top.

We too got autographs from stitch last year. My girls are little scaredy cats so I don't think they would like the villains though:scared1:
