Disney dining.com just reported they were in Starring Rolls today and were told tomorrow was the last day the eatery would be open...

I haven't seen this anywhere else... Am I that out of the loop or are they totally off base.

Thoughts?

Wow!

I don't make it a point to visit on my trips any longer, but I have fond memories. I'll miss it.

I don't think it will.

Been rumored for a while before being confirmed that it's closing tomorrow on ****************
Which is linked in the OP...

Until other outlets confirm this I am not convinced. It could be just a refurb but there is no evidence this is closing for good.

There's a lot of stuff that Disney does that doesn't make a lot of sense to many people. Doesn't really have to.
Normally when it comes to this kind of stuff Disney makes an announcement whether it's a refurb, new dining location, etc. I haven't even seen any permits for this location. It's not unpopular so I can't see it just closing for good.

The fact that there are no construction permits is what makes me believe the closing is permanent. For a refurb, I would think permits would already be issued and work would start almost immediately. For a permanent closing/re-branding, Disney can take its time to decide what to do with the spot next.

Which just doesn't make any sense because its popular.

I've never really considered it that popular. I don't ever even remember waiting in a line there, neither to order/get food, or wait on a table outside. Always plenty of places to sit whenever we've walked past it, as well. It's always seemed busy on hot sunny days, due to folks taking advantage of the shaded tables.

Additionally, it's been a part-time restaurant. Breakfast and lunch, that's it.

Probably just time for it to go away. It's easy to move the cupcakes elsewhere, like they did with the carrot cake cookie from WS. The sandwiches are nothing special. The breakfast there is the standard muffins, croissants, and pastries you can get in lots of places across property.

There's a line at Starring Rolls every time we go. There are so few decent QS or grab n go options at DHS, that getting rid of this one is ridiculous. Plus, where are they going to sell the awesome cupcakes now:( They tended to have unique ones that were not available elsewhere in the park.

The carrot cake cookie moved to a different location at DHS.

I waited in a line that ran out past the outdoor tables in December. I really liked my sandwich, and loved the Darth Vader cupcake. I was looking forward to going back, this is a shame if it's actually closed for good.
